Staff is awesome! Interior is nice and not cramped at all. Food is great. I had the Pho and I would rate it about 7 and my mom had the Masaman Curry I would rate it about an 8. So come enjoy the first Thai place in Douglas!

This is a surprise for those that stop by this strip mall restaurant. The place is clean, the service is extra friendly, and the meals are good and tasty. I had to ask for extra spice, but they accommodated me quickly. Its a place you should not miss out on if you are in Douglas or passing through.

I have mixed reviews of Thai Smile III in Douglas. (It is in the Save A Lot Shopping Center on the West side face of the building). I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for quite some time and finally decided to go and eat dinner and try their fried rice. I love fried rice (with meat) and it is probably my favorite food. I eat at Japanese (sit down cook in front of you Hibachi style) restaurants regularly all over Georgia and Florida and when I eat there I get a ton of food for about $16 to $22 depending on what meat(s) I get. Well first the good. The owner is super nice and very attentive. The glass of water was good and didn’t have an aftertaste and my Shrimp and Steak Fried rice tasted good too. The owner also offered me a free small cup of soup (Chicken and Rice) and it was delicious.(I could have ate a bowl of that). The fried rice actually tasted better than both Kobi and Tokyo in town too and the restaurant is nicely decorated and was clean. Again, the flavor was probably the best in town in terms of fried rice, but I do have some constructive criticism. Now the bad and I really don’t want to frame it like it is a bad place to eat because the food was good, but I feel like the restaurant is on the expensive side for fried rice. For approximately $16 I received 4 (yes FOUR) shrimp and roughly a 1/2 cup to slightly less of thin beef. Notice I said beef (not steak) as it is more in line with the beef you get with Beef and Broccoli at a Chinese restaurant. The amount of fried rice however was plenty and probably about a 1/2 cup too much and should have been a lot more meat for what is charged. I can get more meat with my fried rice at Kobi for about $10 and a ton of meat at Fuji’s in Waycross for $10. I sincerely recommend Thai Smile management make some portion modifications to improve the meat to rice ratio for the price charged or lower the price to around $8 to $10 to compare with others in town. Also the restaurant was a tad warm, but the sun was beating down on that side of the building and it is hard to keep a commercial building cool in the summer so it was tolerable. Their yum yum sauce has a hot kick to it too which I wasn’t expecting, but was a nice change from the traditional sauces. Again, overall mixed feelings about Thai Smile III and wish them the best, but do feel pricing needs to be more in line with competitors or a lot more meat should be served to justify the higher price for a sit down restaurant. Thank you for reading my review.
