Rockit Travel and excellent adventures
Nice neighborhood restaurant in Thornton Park which is one of the few livable neighborhoods in Orlando. Excellent service. Inside and outside seating so you can bring your dog. All in all a very nice experience. I would have given 5 stars for food if there were more vegetarian options but it is an Hawaiian restaurant and you get lots of Spam! If you are not a vegetarian – it is a great restaurant and the food is excellent. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Went here for the first time in support of the LGBTQ+ community for their Pride Brunch. The service was amazing. Our server Dakota was super friendly and attentive. Had the Spam and Hash bowl for brunch, and it was delicious! Also, had the drink called Rise and Grindz, and that hit the spot to top off my brunch. Will definitely come by here again next time I am in Orlando.

I think some of the reviews don’t make sense. The service, food quality portion and taste and atmosphere/vibe were pretty on point. Those doughnuts were killer. My only complaint is not such rough music would be nice, 75% of the time the music was good.

I thought this place was awesome, I don’t really care if you say it’s not as authentic as Hawaii. We ain’t in Hawaii. I thought it was absolutely delicious! The Loco Moco is a must try!! The Spam Musubi was delicious. The music was awesome. The service was quick. And I absolutely loved the decor!

My husband and I drove from The Disney area up to Downtown Orlando looking for some authentic tasting Hawaiian food. I read the reviews and looked at the photos from others and felt comfortable with our choice. When we arrived at The 808 and spent 20 minutes driving around looking for a parking spot that should have been our cue. After a quick call to the restaurant we were told they had limited parking behind the restaurant. We arrived and walked into a Hawaiian Bar Theme atmosphere- emphasizing Bar. My husband ordered the Spam Can Mai Tai that was so strong he literally had to water it down with his water. I ordered the Pineapple Bowl and my husband ordered the 2 meat lunch plate with a side of Spam Musubi. I am not sure how big their kitchen may be but the Pineapple Bowl legit tasted like boiled rice with microwaved vegetables poured over the top with some sauce on the bottom. My husband got the pork and huli chicken and was by far unimpressed. The spam musubi which on the island we know is a finger food, has sauce poured over the top. We had planned for dessert but couldn’t make it to that point as the food was so bland we couldn’t finish our meal. It’s a first I’ve thrown out more than half my meal. As to the atmosphere, again bar all the way. The atmosphere is of an island and yet they don’t even play music to support the theme. It’s more top 40. The server had a Lafayette from True Blood vibe which was completely off kilter as we aren’t in the bayou. I would not suggest making the trip if you’re looking for authentic Hawaiian food but if you’re going for drinks or a cute bar then you may enjoy it.

Run by and check the new mural outside of the 808 by Corie Mattie. She flew in by way of Los Angeles in support of diversity and inclusion for the state of Florida. It’s a great mural.

Dakota was the only good thing about our meal. She was so kind and sweet, and I hope she receives the recognition she deserves! My party personally didn’t care for our food. My most notable complaint would be the dry, flavorless macaroni salad… which was the whole reason we went to this location in the first place. My Buddha bowl was definitely unique, but just wasn’t for me. A little seasoning could go a long way.

This Sunday’s brunch may have been rainy and cold but The 808’s Sunday brunch is warm, bright, and tropical! We went for Sunday brunch- $15 bottles of wine with a mimosa juice bar! I went for classic OJ at first, then switched to the highly recommended Pog juice- a Hawaiian favorite made with passion fruit juice, orange juice, and guava nectar.
