The Alibi is a lakefront restaurant overlooking Lake Lackawanna located in Byram Township, NJ.

We walked in and waited literally 10 min. Before anyone came to seat us. The place was virtually empty. She (the bartender) asked if we had a reservation, we did not, so she seated us in the “timeout corner” on the back deck away from the outside bad and any other people. We at there for over 15 min. Before she bothered to come out to take our order. She never checked on us to see if we needed anything. She was not remotely pleasant. The food was okay but the service made us decide to never come back. Last time we were here it was amazing service and I tipped 50% of our tab to the young man that waited on us. I really don’t want to tip this person a dime! She was indifferent. Almost out and out rude. Also, I don’t like being treated like I am not worthy of eating at this dive!

Beautiful view of Lake Lackawanna (in Stanhope, NJ) from their outdoor deck. The burger I had was very tasty but not extraordinary. Their were other dishes that looked more interesting that other people ordered. The staff are very friendly and make dining enjoyable. They also have entertainment on certain evening.

We went with another couple a few weeks ago. Place was pretty empty. We ordered drinks and nachos to start. My Mojhito came out and had a dead ant in it. When I told the waiter he said the mint was from their garden. As I stirred the drink I saw another dead ant. How about washing the mint before serving. Sent it back and the next one was ant free.

Had a great late lunch/early dinner at Alibi. We went for the views. The food was pretty decent. Had mango habanero wings and calamari to start. I ate a Caesar salad, the boyfriend, a burger. Loved their Chardonnay. Service was stellar. Andrew was a fantastic server. Probably even better than those in NYC. I’d definitely return!

This was a short-lived great community spot. This place should close the kitchen and only function as a bar. The food is deplorable and many of the food choices on the menu are not available. It’s not for lack of effort on the wait staff. They are good people. Just sad how mismanaged this place is. It is only a matter of time before this location changes name once again.

Beautiful evening to dine by the lake with the outdoor heaters on the deck. Covid precautions are well managed so I felt comfortable with the socially distance tables. The food was very good. The mac n cheese egg roles were crisp and the calamari was delicious with a kick to it. The calamari rings were not chewy like some dishes can be. They have a delicious Bloody Mary ! Always nice to have a nice meal and drinks by the light of the moon reflecting on the water.

We drove up from Harrisburg area today for my Neice’s First Birthday Party…such a great venue for the event…started out with appetizers with Charcuterie, Fresh Mozzarella and tomatoes and Calamata olives…delicious Cheese Steak Egg Rolls…Main Course of perfectly cooked Skirt Steak, Eggplant Rolitine, Ziti with Vodka Sauce and Chicken Floretine….all were prepared really well for Buffet Style service…The Lackawanna Lake is Beautiful and it was a warm sunny day…Happy Birthday Skylar!

Overheard about this place in a line in a store Decided to give it a try. Had a seat on the patio by the lake. Views were great. Had drinks and cauliflower app, then had 3 tacos. All were great. Very good food, nice surprise.

This place is great. There are 3 distinct “areas” and each is really nice. The outdoor dining area is fantastic – right on the lake, with live music (but crucially, the music isn’t so loud to ruin the vibe, it’s perfect). The calamari was very tasty, my turkey sandwich was excellent, and my wife loved her veggie burger. Will definitely return here regularly.
