We got a combo platter – cod, shrimp and scallops. Came with fries and slaw. Tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Really some of the best fried seafood we’ve had in a long time. Pleasant surprise. Everything succulent, sweet even. Fresh. Can tell they respect the sea.

Would you believe they best fish and chips spot in the neighborhood is also the best taco spot in the neighborhood?! We have ordered multiple times, the food is always fresh and delicious. The prices are fair and the portions are generous. We have been looking for a good tacos spot since moving from Brooklyn and this place is spot on.

Excellent UK pub style Fish and Chippie we discovered on the way to a weekend game. They had both traditional battered and Panko breaded Cod but we opted for the traditional. Good batter which was both crunchy and yet pliable which preserved the soft Cod inside. The real test is of course the chips which were also crunchy but soft enough to enjoy. And yes it carried Malt vinegar as a side topping. The real interesting twist tothis place also had fantastic Birria style tacos and we had the awesome shrimp ones. What little stomach room I had after was saved towards the deep fried Oreos yum. Good find and am bringing some leftovers home (big portions) for my British better half.

Being English, a good quality Fish and Chips is really important to us to remind us of home. We’ve had a couple of poor experiences in New Jersey and had almost given up, until we discovered the Anchor.

A nice little gem that appears to be a local favorite based on the constant pickups while we dined here recently. We both ordered fish and chips along with some amazing fried mushrooms. The fish and chips were top notch, fresh and had that delicious crunch to it. It came with the standard fries and cole slaw. I was happy that it came with malt vinegar (most places don’t) and tartar sauce (seemed house made ). The fried mushrooms were bathed in the same fish batter that was obviously made in house and it was by far the best fried mushrooms we ever had! They were juicy, hot, crunchy and tremendously delicious! We never had fried mushrooms prepared this way and blew away any we had previously. I recommended that they use that batter for some fried pickles, we heard our server tell the cook so who knows if they will ‍♂️ ‍♂️. Anyway, we will definitely go out of our way to eat here again as this was a stop we made because we were in the area and I’m really glad we did. Lastly, it has a small dining area with a few tables, nothing fancy by any means, but the star is the food and the excellent service.

I wish I would’ve taken a picture but we devoured all the food before we could. Absolutely delicious fish and chips and fried shrimp. They fry it in a batter which is delicious and I was so shocked at how big the portions were, I got 6 or 7 huge shrimp and two huge pieces of fish. We also got some kid’s chicken fingers which my daughter enjoyed. I’m so happy I found this place! The only thing that wasn’t good was the tres leches cake, it was super dry but I wouldn’t take away anything from this place for that. Also very friendly service.

We had the fish and chips. The batte was just right, not too thick like most places. Definitely worth a stop in. Reasonable pricing.

I drive by this place everyday and kept telling myself I had to try it. Finally decided to have it delivered via Grubhub. Food was great. Hot dish and chills with fried mushrooms. The portions you get for the price you pay are very worth it. Best fish and chips I’ve had since I moved to New Jersey. Will definitely be a returning customer.

This seems to be a small family run business that’s doing everything right. A few days ago we passed by the location and decided to go back last night to try it out, we’re glad we did! Everything was pretty much spot on starting with friendly responsive service, small but clean looking insides, getting our food ready in about 10 minutes (we did pickup and ate down by the waterfront) to fresh delicious fish. We ordered two things, the blackened cod sandwich and the fish and chips. Both were great, the only small thing I could put forth a suggestion on is the blackened fish sandwich was a bit on the salty side for our palette. The fish and chips were perfect, two nice thick strips of cod, a light batter that clung to the fish and no “fishy” smell that you get from old fish. In addition the chips were nice and big just like we would expect. There was a side of cole slaw, also excellent as well as a generous tin of tartar sauce and plenty of vinegar and ketchup that we didn’t even have to ask for in the bag. I’m really glad we found this place and I hope they have great success and keep the quality we experienced. Part of my reason for writing the review is I hope others find this little place and we have it around for the future.
