We were surprised with our experience at the Angry Possum. We were passing by on the interstate and needed a restaurant in Newport so we searched restaurants on Google Maps. This one popped up! We like to try new things so we pulled up. Neat and historical old building. Unique recipes. Great tasting foods. Broad variety of menu items. Server/ Bartender was super nice and full of information. She did great. We hope to stop in again sometime during evening hours because it looks like a fun place to be.

1st time coming here. Loved the atmosphere. I had Brisket grilled cheese, was suppose to be regular cheese..I took 2 bites before I hit cheese and that was it.. my mouth on fire when i hit the cheese. I’m a wuss, so I wont return.. also, I don’t drink beer or wine, sad no Captain…as I came for a new experience for my 1st anniversary saying my vows to my late Fiancé. Captain n Coke was his drink. But live music nice touch and felt like it’s be nice place to be left alone to enjoy my time.

The adult lunchable was a pleasant surprise to the appetizer menu! Whether you want something light and refreshing or heavy and savory this is the perfect place for a bite to eat and a cold drink with some great company! The owner and staff were amazing and helpful!! Will definitely be back every time we are in Newport!

This place is fabulous! I actually ate here twice on the same day. They have great food with a huge beer and wine selection and the sevice is even geat. If you’re ever in Newport you need to try this place. Oh, and they even have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
