Located in the gloriously updated first floor of The Hollywood Roosevelt, The Barish is Chef Nancy Silverton’s latest addition to the Los Angeles dining scene. Our restaurant pays homage to Nancy’s family who raised cattle at the Barish Farm in central Canada. The menu features steakhouse classics, pasta al forno, along with some of Nancy’s reimagined Italian favorites.

Swanky restaurant in a historic hotel. Great place for a date or if you want to entertain family/friends from out of town. Arrive early and get drinks in the lounge that is adjacent. The open kitchen is crazy cool.

All in all it was a good experience. We went here for our anniversary and when making the reservations it had an option to pick the occasion, didn’t think too much of it until we arrived and they mentioned it and even wrote us a card saying happy anniversary. The waiter was made aware and mentioned it a few times as well, a nice touch. We ordered the 35 ounce dry aged porterhouse, the salt fried potatoes (fancy potato wedges), and the pizza fritta. Everything was really good, no regrets on anything we ordered. We also got a bottle of red wine that was pretty good, bedrock something, they let us taste test a couple wines before we decided on a bottle.

Very elegant, sat at the bar, and had some apps and drinks, which were exceptional. Even the decap. extremely friendly service. Haven’t had the dinner menu, so can only give a four star at this time

Just a typical overpriced over hyped meal. Some tasty plates indeed. Other ridiculously over priced plates were undercooked although we asked for medium rare, it came out bloody and chewy, as an example.

I went to The Barish for DineLA. The restaurant is beautiful – matches with the hotel ambiance.

Great food and excellent service. And it’s a beautiful restaurant with a great bar. The ambient is excellent. There’s valet parking behind the hotel. We had wonderful bread with cheese and yummy mushrooms. The porterhouse steak was very juicy and full of great flavors. Good coffee as well.

SECOND and fantastic ! FIRST COURSE Rigatoni > pumpkin, goat cheese, vadouvan, brown butter was the first course and it was shared with PLENTY for ALL. simply remarkable… vadouvan is a spice blend with variable ingredients SECOND COURSE Second course > Duck breast > quince, chestnuts, verjus with side of Potatoes > butter sauce, trout roe, dill and Barish Farmhouse Rolls > Rodolphe le Meunier butter -THE TROUT ROE was extraordinary as the tiny round ‘bubbles’ simply evaporated in a puff giving off a gentle salty air.. the potatoes were fantastic – the dill hitting the spot ~ the DUCK was remarkable… these were SHARED ~ the Barish Farmhouse Rolls > Rodolphe le Meunier butter was simply delectable THIRD course was Caesar salad > anchovy (on dressing and actual asked for on side plate), olive croutons, egg, Parmigiano Reggiano ~ eating a salad at the end of the meal cleans the palate and gives a better digestive and THIS WAS SUPERB – i asked for them to be placed as a side dish… obviously there is anchovy IN the salad dressing itself we Ordered a second Barish Farmhouse Rolls > Rodolphe le Meunier butter to ‘go with ~ COCKTAILS superb !!!

Amazing food! Very different. The roll with butter, and this may sound stupid, was amazing. The butter is out of this world. We did the dine LA menu and we got to taste a little bit of everything. It all was very good coupled with some amazing service by our server, David, I highly recommend.

Another delicious Nancy Silverton restaurant located on the first floor of the Roosevelt Hotel. I don’t usually like to come over to Hollywood for dinner due to how busy it gets, but for the right restaurant I will and this place certainly counts as that. I’m already a fan of chef Nancy’s other restaurant Osteria Mozza in Fairfax so I was excited to try this one. It has a great design on the inside with a really swanky bar. Our server Kristen was also very polite, attentive, and did a great job. Since it’s in a hotel they add an 18% surcharge to all bills so tip is already factored into the total.
