We stopped by and had a great lunch on a day down from BC. The concept is farm to table Louisiana style, and it hits the note perfectly. We had the Beets, Pork Cheeks, Smoked Duck Gumbo and Creme Brulee. It was all very delicious, and the portions were solid and high quality. We sat in the bar area which is cosier but still has the views of the main restaurant area. Here the server/bartender was super friendly and dipped in and out of conversation with us and the Chef Michael also came to our table. So it unexpectedly ended up feeling like a very casual but intimate dining affair.

Secret treasure of a restaurant! I was hesitant because I wasn’t sure if I would like the golf club atmosphere, but the outdoor deck was gorgeous and there’s a beautiful view of the forest, mountains, and just a bit of the green/water feature. The cocktail was nice and I had the mushroom risotto, which was delicious and generous with the mushrooms. I highly recommend it!

Matthew, the head chef is truly a master of his craft. The team that he has curated at The Bistro demonstrates his attention to detail and dedication to provide a healthy environment with amazing farm to table food. All of the employees are in a great mood and happy to serve you one of the best meals in Whatcom County. I also recommend going there on Friday for their jazz nights. This time I got the half wedge salad (not pictured because I ate it so fast!) the pork cheeks with a blueberry glaze, gold beets and mushrooms over puréed celeriac (the best I’ve ever had,) and a bread pudding with creole cream cheese frozen custard, that is served over candied bourbon pecans with a sweet bourbon creme anglaise to end this gastronomic symphony. Truly a delight!! Will be back many many many more times.

I sat at the bar on a three day weekend holiday and was served amazing food and drinks. The server was absolutely amazing at their job, attending to the very busy restaurant that started filling up due to the three day weekend. The food was impeccable, the drinks were perfection, and we are lucky to have this restaurant in Whatcom County.

We are huge fans of Cajun food and we’re so impressed! The chef is from New Orleans and the food was better than that when we were actually in NOLA. The view was beautiful and the food is some of the best we’d had in Bellingham. Highly recommend!

Been to this hidden away gem yet? If not, it is a must! The Chef is the best at making Shrimp and Grits among everything else on the menu. Beets by Matthew are a favorite too. If you’re not a seafood lover you can go for the Shuksan Burger or Pork Cheeks So many good choices on the menu, with occasional seasonal surprises too. Knowing most of the items are locally sourced makes it all taste even better.

We were so pleasantly surprised by our dining experience and are grateful this is only a ten minutes drive. Menu is well designed with plenty of options but not enough that feels overwhelming. You can tell the chefs are passionate about food, ingredients, and seasonality. We loved everything we had especially the oysters and pork cheeks dish.

This isn’t your typical golf course restaurant. Yeah they have the golf course staples you’d expect as you make the turn, but it’s also a great sit down restaurant for a date night, business lunch etc. The chef is putting out some excellent food, lots of delicious Cajun dishes, they do dinners with wine pairings, it’s really a unique menu that is a nice break from everything we see in downtown Bellingham. To top it all off you get to eat while enjoying great views of the golf course and the surrounding hills and mountains. Don’t hesitate to give them a try!
