Heard about this place by my coworker. This place is located downtown Johnson city. Very nice place and the atmosphere in the restaurant was quiet, peaceful and relaxed. The staff was very nice and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ended up just getting pizza and their garlic bread knots with mozzarella cheese and it was all so good. The sauce was not spicy, or too sweet just right. I would definitely eat here again. Highly recommend.

Every time I’ve been to Black Olive I have had zero complaints! The food and drinks are always delicious, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming and peaceful. We brought our dogs for dinner on the outdoor patio and couldn’t have been happier – had a wonderful waitress, Sealea, delicious food and wine, and the live music was just right – relaxing and not so loud that you couldn’t hold a conversation with the table. We will definitely be back soon!

Only 5 stars because that’s the most it will allow!!!! This is the best Italian food I have EVER had!! Your food comes HOT and in a timely manner!! The chef (Alfredo) is welcoming and makes the most amazing food!!! If you have never been here, I would 1000 percent suggest this place!! The plating is so beautiful and I promise it will NOT disappoint you!! If anything, you will be shocked!! This is the second time visiting, and yet again, I was not disappointed by anything!!!!!

Wanted a little something different for mothers day dinner, so I thought lets go to the Black Olive. I’d been to the one in Jonesborough and liked it, But I live in Johnson City Tn and we just had one open there. I had called to see if they took reservations and they said No first come first serve. They serve brunch on Sunday and opened at 10:00. We got there about 11:00 and they were getting crowded. They have seats outside but no more with an umbrella over it. I didn’t want to sit in the sun so we decided to wait for a table. I kept hearing the hostess talking about reservations. But I was told they didn’t take any. I was a little put off by this. After about 30 minutes the 4 of us were setted. The waitress came after about 10 minutes but since it was mothers day I knew she was busy. She took our drink and appetizer order. It a while but we enjoyed sitting and talking while we waited. Then she took our main course order. I got the Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp was good but the angel hair pasta was overcooked. And It had too much sauce in the dish. I thought they served bread with the meal but I didn’t get any.

Came here for a birthday celebrating after falling in love with their other location. We began with a white wine, and cheesy garlic knots. For our entrees we had Eggplant parmesan which was by far one of the best I have ever had. The pesto chicken Alfredo was also delicious. To finish we had a cannoli and tiramisu to go, both tasted fresh and delicious. Parking was quite difficult so I don’t know that I would chose this location over any of the others. But 10/10 recommend!

Phenomenal service and food. We stopped here because everywhere else had a minimum 1.5 hour wait in downtown on a Saturday. We were able to seat here immediately (assuming because the location is newer) and this place is honestly worth having to wait for. Service was incredibly quick and friendly.
