I stopped here while I was in the area and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to the Blind Pig in CR many times and have always enjoyed their food but on & off there was service weirdness due to management changes. I didn’t get a sense of anything like that at this location. The employees seemed to work cohesively and to truly enjoy their jobs. Because of this the food was the same delicious caliber but thankfully the service was excellent as well. There was plenty of seating between the 2 stories and it was nicely decorated in a new hometown bar & pig theme that is more casual than when it was the Jitney. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich that I ate before I got any pictures it was so good and a Moscow Mule that had a nice kick. Definitely recommend and will be back.

An awesome selection and great addition to downtown Monticello! Our waitress was great at giving recommendations since only one of us had been to their location in CR before. Everything was served very timely, fresh, and hot! The Jacked Mac Bites come with an awesome dill sauce and I liked that they put their own twist on ketchup mixed with sweet&sour sauce for their fries! Everything was great and I ended up with enough leftovers for another meal. I’ll be back next time I visit my hometown. Shoutout to everyone who helped this place come to Monti!

This is a good spot fir a lunch or to catch a few drinks. Plenty on tap, and bottled.

Ok. The mules here are wow, but the BBQ makes you want to roll on your back with joy. Damn. The service is impeccable which is rare.

I got the Cobb Salad, which was quite large, especially for the price, and looked amazing. It’s a nice place, with well-done construction and decor. If you don’t mind the bar atmosphere, I would definitely suggest trying this place out.

My husband and I went to this location on a Friday evening around 8 PM. It wasn’t extremely busy. There were a lot of open tables. It took awhile to place our drink order, but we finally got it placed and received our drinks after 15-20 minutes. We placed our order for our appetizer and meals right away. We received our appetizer 15 minutes after ordering. The jacked mac bites were delicious. However, we proceeded to sit at our table for another hour before the waitress finally approached us and told us they never submitted our ticket. I’m not sure how that happened since we ordered our appetizer and entrees at the same time. They did offer to put it in for us, but at that point we had already spent over 1 and 45 minutes of our evening there. We weren’t prepared to spend another 40 minutes waiting for food. We weren’t charged for our mac bites, one beer, or lemonade.

We loved the place. Fun bartenders, great election of tap beers and the pork nachos were superb. Sadly we live quite aways away and visits will be much less frequent than if we were locals. Great pub. They might need to expand into an adjoining building soon!

First of all the food was awesome I have no complaints about it in the least and in fact willing to go there again someday to eat. However the way the place is laid out they have smaller tables right where the waitresses walk and if you’re new to the area and unaware of it they will chew you out making you move to the bar and in fact taking the chairs away from you putting them back to the bar so that they can walk with the food orders. Not very well designed to say the least and that the waitresses can be given more training on how to treat customers. I would however like to know the fact that the waitress we had when working for a tip was absolutely perfect however the two we ran into on the floor we’re not.

My wife and I enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. When we arrived to the the restaurant, it was very busy but our server quickly got us our drinks and took our order. I ordered buffalo wings for appetizers and they were by far the best wings that I have tasted. For my main entrée, I ordered a pork tenderloin which was also by far the best tenderloin that I have tasted. The Blind Pig is one of the best restaurants in Iowa.

Heard that there was a Blind Pig location in Monticello and went to try it out – for reference we’ve eaten at the Blind Pig in Cedar Rapids multiple times and love the food and the service there. We came on a busy night and it was apparent that this was overwhelming the staff. It took awhile to get drinks and when we did I found two hard little floaters in my pop – unfortunately didn’t find them until I had already drank a quarter and figured that it wasn’t worth waiting more and giving staff another task, so I just fished them out and continued on.
