Absolutely the best steak AND lobster AND escargot that I’ve ever had! And considering it was fried lobster (which I have never had before this evening)…. whoa! Amazing! The congac was smooth and delish! The service was fantastic (Amy)! Thank you for the beautiful parting gift! So fortunate to have made it to this beautiful establishment before they closed the doors this evening forever. And to Joseph and his family, Thank you for your time and dedication to your life of successes that have brought many memories to so many! May you and your family be blessed!

Have a cocktail before your meal overlooking the lake out back by the pool. Old school classics like shrimp cocktail, Dover Sole, rack of lamb… creme brulee tableside. Boom! Go during the regular season or they will be closed!

I had the breaded Lobster tail and it was fabulous. I also had a marvelous New York- style cheesecake. Even the bar creations were perfectly made. My server, Heather, was delightful. The Blue Heron is a world class establishment, from the greeter who seats you when you arrive, to the owner who thanks you for coming when you leave. Ordinarily I would say this place is pricey, but the food, the service, indeed, the experience at The Blue Heron . . . worth every farthing!

Probably my favorite dining experience of the year! There’s something anachronistic and nostalgic about this restaurant. The food is exceptional. The wine list is perhaps the best and most complete I have seen while at the Lake. The servers are attentive without being overbearing. This is a really excellent choice for fine dining.

I recall my many meals at the Blue Heron with the utmost pleasure. My first meal there was in 1997, I believe. The food was always delicious; the smell of smoked meats was appetizing. The service was always efficient and pleasant. I loved every meal I had. I hope they still do the coffee like I remember, with the glass gravity pot and served with cream. I have always wanted to return after I moved from Missouri. One day, perhaps. I read in other reviews that the restaurant has changed – that would be so sad!

The best of the best of everything here. It is an event to have dinner here. Complete with view of the lake and the beautiful sunset. The food is absolutely amazing. The service is always perfect. Ending width a visit with Joseph. A life long family tradition for me and my family and a very special place for my husband and me.

Went there July 24 and the place was a ghost town. We were there for a birthday dinner with family after not having been there for many years. The owner Joseph Boer accosted us out of the blue with some crazy story and embarrassed all of us and made the few patrons and the staff miserable. We had not even touched our drinks and walked out. We went to Baxter’s across the street and were treated warmly and had excellent food. We had heard the owner here had lost it but we saw it first hand. Whatever this was in the past is over. Baxter’s is great. Go there

Fine dining at it’s best. Located on a bluff overlooking the Lake of the Ozark the view is spectacular. Their batter fried Lobster Tail is often copied but never duplicated. Pricy but worth it.

My wife and I went to the blue heron to have dinner one Saturday night because it was a special day for us, I was going to ask her to marry me. I took her there because as a kid growing up in the area I had spent a lot of time on the lake and on the cliff just down the road from this restaurant. I ordered a bottle of wine which was way over priced but was good. The service was awful and slow, the food was cold and terrible. When I asked to talk the manager about this nightmare experience the owner came over from the bar. I told him how unhappy I was and to my utter amazement he said if I didn’t like it not to come back. We have not and will not go back after this kind of rude and unacceptable experience.
