Before coming here, I read some people’s less-than-favorable reviews of this place, and thought, “What a bunch of Karens!” Well, I’m about to join the ranks of the Karens with this review. I came with a group of 4 other people, and it was during Restaurant Week, so it’s possible that negatively affected our service.

The food was good, I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the lamb. Both very good. We also had the baked brie and salads and all of that was good, too. Also had two drinks each and dessert. The service was subpar. We had a reservation at 7:30 and were out the door by 8:30. Our server didn’t tell us about the specials, we overheard her telling another table after we’d ordered. She also didn’t give us any time after we sat down before she wanted our dinner orders. She tried to take our appetizer and salad plates multiple times before we were done. As soon as we set our forks down she was asking about dessert. We both felt super rushed (they weren’t packed) and felt like we weren’t able to enjoy our meal. Super disappointing experience for a place with such a cool atmosphere and good food.

Nice meal, but service wasn’t optimal. It was so nice outside, we sat on the patio. Not crowded at all, but server seemed harried, and preoccupied with other tables. Drinks finally came, and we were promised bread, but it didn’t come until the main courses arrived. We heard “it’s in the oven” twice, more than 30 minutes apart. Food was excellent, but service was a detraction. For the price, you expect better. We’ll probably return and try again, but it might be a while.

In town for an event and found a nice place to eat. Decor was really neat. There were intimate set tables as well as large group seating and lighting was set for mood. Food was absolutely delicious! Loved the courteous staff and specialty options. Would definitely dine again.

Dinner at the Blue Heron with friends was the highlight of my recent trip to Lexington. Our service from Hannah was attentive, our cocktails were exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. I eat mostly fish, and I had the best salmon I have ever had at the Blue Heron. Even the manager was wonderful – calling me to notify me that someone had left their room key at the table. Overall wonderful experience – highly recommend.

Very Impressed with this Valentine’s Day Entourage menu The Oysters Rockefeller actually tasted like the original recipe of watercress rather than the usual spinach topping. So nice to have the different flavor on this beautiful Oyster dish. The color was a most vibrant hue of green. I also enjoyed the Berkshire pork that was juicy and perfectly done. It was a delight to see such a variation on the menu like Pheasant and cassoulet. Our waiter David was the epitome of excellence in service. Atmosphere in the establishment is soothing and relaxing with crackling fire to calm away the day. I highly recommend this establishment for professional creative cuisines, atmosphere and service.
