I have to admit, after reading the reviews, I was a little afraid to try this place. However, I found myself here after my boss scheduled a “Halloween lunch” for the members of my lab group. I looked on the floor for cockroaches, but didn’t see any, and looked for mushy rice, but didn’t see any of that either. The place looked decently clean, and the buffet was actually one of the better Indian buffets I’ve tried in terms of selection and food. All the items in the buffet were hot and tasted good. Also, unlike some other Indian buffets, they didn’t hide away their naan, and kept it in the buffet line. The dinner experience might be different here but I felt like their lunch was pretty good, and at a decent price too.

I went to buffet on a Sunday and food was not great… There are so many better food choices (indian) in Houston. People are not organized and place feel crowded since there is no room. They could have done a better for the price. This food might be good for a person who never tasted Indian food before.

Best Indian Cuisine in Houston! (At least in my opinion) Try the Saag Paneer, it’s amazing. I definitely recommend going for dinner, while the lunch buffet is very good, the dinner menu is better. I live 40 minutes away and my family and I still make it out here about once a month on average. Service is great too, I really can’t say enough good about this place.

I had to try this Indian restaurant in Houston based on the advise of a fellow critic. The basics, like having an excellent naan bread made a great first impression. I tried a combination as I always do of several dishes. The chicken was nothing special. Anyone can throw curry at chicken, but that does not make it tikka masala.

Wonderful and considerate staff. They were more on top of their game than any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. They even provide moist warm towels that smell wonderful to clean up with afterwards. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and pashwari naan; it all tasted fantastic AND it was affordable. I’m from out of town but I will come back here. again since I travel down to Houston several times a year.

This is the worst Indian restaurant in Houston. The food has no flavor and even the soda’s are flat. The worst part is the price which was way over priced!! For you white people I would recommend India’s restaurant on Richmond Avenue. Trust me you won’t regret it…..

This place is rally nice. Servers are very welcoming and warm. I really like their service and ambiance. Let’s talk about the food. The food is not the best Indian food I ever had. But because of their service I would love to return to this place over and over again. I and my fiancé ordered chicken tikka and chicken biriyani, both were very fresh and good in taste. But I feel the flavor of biriyani was not the best. Spices level was low and had no flavor of biriyani. However, I liked their tikka masala, rice and nun.

Great Indian Cuisine. Came in the morning as they opened & was prepared to order from the menu. They had a lunch buffet so I was able to taste a few of the items. The Naan was fresh & hot, it was perfect. Chicken Tika Masala was probably my fave of the protein dishes I had & the sauce was rich. Jasmine rice was fresh too but nothing deviating from the standard rice. The Samosas were not part of the buffet so I ordered a pair just to try them out since it’s my 1st time here. They were also fresh & very hot.comjng from the kitchen. I’ve had some that had a hint of spice but these were not. They were excellent nonetheless. I would come here again & or bring friends.

Took my friend here after she decided she wanted to like Indian cuisine, apparently her first experience was not delicious. It worked! We wanted the “Viceroy of India dinner for two” but there were three of us dining, so our server took very good care of us and made a special combination dinner for three people by adding several other dishes and customizing it to our liking. It was extremely great hospitality for them to cater to our needs like that. A sampling of probably 12 dishes came out and it was all great. The saag paneer, tandoori chicken and vegetable curry were the standout winners. The naan is soft and pillowy. The wine was on the standard side, but honestly I couldn’t stop eating long enough to care about what i was drinking. Don’t expect a fancy atmosphere, it’s basic and cafeteria-esque, but do come with a big appetite.

The experience, I thought it was a few steps better than Shiva. I always come to Indian restaurants for the Saag Paneer, and I was pretty much not disappointed since I enjoyed its creamy texture, even though it was missing the paneer cubes that I usually found in the dish. The chicken tikka masala had the same gross-looking dark meat that Shiva and Tandoori had, so I stopped eating that after a while, and the goat curry meat I found to have a decent taste. Usually the waiters in the other Indian restaurants I’ve been to would serve the naan as soon as I would be seated, but I think they forgot. Honest mistake. I had to request for some fresh naan though. Overall, for $11.95, it was all right.
