My son had asked me to go out for dinner and he took me to his place, called Borders café.

The food looked great (see the photos). Serving staff are pleasant but not attentive or listen well. Overall, disappointed. You’ve got to love salty everything. The chicken fajitas and “jambalaya” are seasoned in a way that tasted fake and we just did not like it. The chicken was tender and cooked fine, which was good. The chips and salsa were good (and salty) but we had higher hopes based on previous reviews.

Had Gumbo it was good. Rest of the food is trash. Enchiladas tasted burnt sauce was gross. Highly don’t recommend. Chips where over saltiest taste burnt. Staff was okay. Nice but wasn’t the greatest at touching table. Took drink order then took 20 mins to get the drinks. Other waitresses running the food.

I must say that getting lost and stumbling on this delicious gem about 10 years ago was a pleasure. Throughout the years of coming here, they have been consistent! The food is some of the best. The chicken and beef are seasoned to perfection, and the Jose rice. I crave the rice! It’s my favorite. The 52-minute drive from Baltimore is well worth the trip!

Service was great and fast. The chips and salsa are always delicious (I love that the chips come out warm). I tried the Gulf Coast Seafood Enchiladas for the first time and they were delicious! They did not skimp on the seafood and getting the jambalaya as my side made for a perfect dish. The only downside of this awesome restaurant is how loud and echo-y it is. But I will deal with the din because of the awesome food and service.

This food was not edible. I can’t believe the staff thought that this was acceptable to bring to the table. And no one offered to remove this terrible food from the bill. This is chicken if you can’t tell. Horrible experience.

We ate at the bar and had a good server. Margaritas are very tasty. I always recommend the jambalaya, but be warned it’s a big serving. Ceasar salad is also a good eat. They are usually pretty busy but worth the wait.

The Border Cafe never disappoints. As Per family tradition, we always stop to eat at the Border Cafe when returning from a beach day at Cape Henlopen. This time I introduced my friends to the Border Cafe. We were tired hungry and sunburnt. The frozen margaritas, fajitas, enchiladas and empanadas hit the spot. Our waiter Javar was attentive, friendly and patient.

First time here and it was a great experience. The service was first class and the food was very good. The atmosphere was noisy after more people got in the restaurant and the music was loud. Definitely worth trying again I would recommend that you stop here and try it out yourself. We got the chips right after they came out of the fryer and they were absolutely delicious.
