We came through here from Arkansas and decided to have lunch! A cafeteria-like atmosphere with THE FRIENDLIEST staff and servers! The food was reasonably priced and the quality was not bad. The fries were very soft and greasy, but I’m not a huge fry fan anyway. The chicken cheesesteak was super tasty and slightly spicy. Yumm. If we are in town again, we would go back!

I ordered a delivery order on the phone. I have never had a problem doing this until today. I am usually greeted by someone so nicely and am able to hear them clearly. I’m not sure what was different about today but when I was unable to hear the lady taking my order I received an attitudinal HELLO!?!?! not to mention that the person taking the order sounded so uninterested and at some points just rude and then there were some points towards the end of my order that they sounded really nice.. I was confused because this has never happened before.. The food is always good but the service today could use some work.

Just had whatever everyone claims is an excellent experience here at The Brick. At our table, we were greeted by our waitress with the enthusiasm of someone with little to no pulse. Drinks were delivered with 2/3 success after the unsweetened tea was correctly swapped with a sweet tea. We were one of a few tables when we arrived and that amount of customers remained steady for our entire visit. Debby Downer presented our meals that had about as much flavor as she did spunk. Even after dousing it in syrup, my pecan and blueberry waffle somehow remained bland. The grits were left after two tastes, as I had determined them to be unpalatable. My friends got the Brick Special, which I guess the name should have been a dead giveaway, as these meals were as delightful as a brick. After the unappetizing nourishment, the server maintained no noticeable presence and dropped the bill off at some point, without adding the total up. I left $10 over what we added up for her, but on the way out one of the employees decided to display their math skills and accuse me of having not left enough. When they managed to fully count the money I left, I got the same rude demeanor, rather than a “My bad”.

After a long absence I was visiting friends from long ago & they suggested The Brick saying it is one of the very few restaurants in town to get home style cooking. At nearly noon on Sat. there were a lot of empty tables, not a good sign, but the dining area was clean, neat, bright & open. The service was quick, the server friendly & efficient. Our orders arrived quickly, the OE eggs were perfect, the biscuits & gravy tasted great, all was hot & fresh. While the price was a bit more than expected, the food, the service, the atmosphere would keep me coming back if I lived in the area instead of FL.
