This is a must-do when passing through Iowa/Elkader! The food was 10/10 (I got a smoothie, half sandwich, and chips and it was the perfect amount of food and tasted great!), the staff could not have been friendlier, and it is attached to a super cute shop for gifts! The atmosphere was quaint with great music.

The Brim is a little peace of Heaven in beautiful downtown Elkader! The coffee, sandwiches, desserts, speciality drinks, you name it on the menu and you’ll never be disappointed. The atmosphere of The Brim is one of a kind. You’re always greeted walking in the door as if they’ve all known you forever! This is exactly what small town Iowa is.

Made a stop in Elkader on a school field trip from Iowa State, and ate at Brim for lunch. Quick service, and very kind environment. My friend accidentally spilled her coffee, and they were so quick to clean it and even made her a new cup free of charge!! I love hidden gems, and this is certainly one of them. Might have to stop by again if I’m in the area ever again.
