I’m was born and raised in England for about the first 20 years of my life, I have tried “fish and chips” from places all over the country and this is by far the closest thing to the real deal I have ever tried in the US. The chips were good, but even better when salt and the malt vinegar was added, the fish (both the cod and haddock) were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Most Brits don’t have tartar sauce from the local chippy nor do they have salad unless it’s from a pub etc, but the addition of the salad didn’t ruin the meal. We were about to leave but decided to try the scones with jam and clotted cream; my goodness that was a piece of heaven! Wow!!! We’ll be back without doubt! It was great getting to drink Irn Bru and Dandelion & Burdock again after so many years living here too. Prices were very reasonable for it all.

If you’re in the area, eat here. Our server, Joseph, was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable, hospitable, playful. The Scotch egg was moist and tender, the soft boiled egg inside was executed perfectly. The cod was fresh and tender and the batter it was fried in was light and crispy. 10/10 would recommend.

This place is pretty good. This was the second time I’ve been here. They have a lot of food that you cannot get anywhere else.

Great food. Nothing too flashy but exactly what I expected from a chip shop. Will be back!

This restaurant is fantastic! We had fish and chips, scotch eggs, millionaire bar, lemon tart, and apple pie. Every single dish was so good! Definitely recommend this place for a great meal and experience. Definitely do not skip dessert!

Great ambiance inside and friendly people working there. The size of the Jumbo haddock for $20 was a lot less than expected, where were the chips! Fish was cooked great though and breading was tasty. The Welsh rarebit was more of a cheese toast, really was hoping for some mustard. Might give it another try when we are at Kings Road across the street

Had a delicious meal here tonight with my sister! Got the Scotch egg as an appetizer and it was amazing. My sis got the fish and chips and I got the Paddy Whack burger (ate too fast to take pics of the main course lol)! However, we managed to get pics of the amazing sticky toffee pudding for dessert which I would HIGHLY recommend. The owner / chef is extremely friendly and nice enough to come over to make sure our evening was as pleasant as ever! the wait staff is excellent. Highly recommend The British Chip Shop to anyone who’s shopping around or visiting Haddonfield for a delicious, authentic meal.

Nice spot with very good fish and chips (I had the haddock special). Also got a Scotch egg and the boy got grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. Will definitely be stopping back.
