The people and staff are friendly. However the food was very tasteless. Then to hear the waitress say they don’t really use seasoning explained it all. Cute place and atmosphere for sure but like I said just no taste. The breakfast portions were a decent size but for two of us our bill was $30. I got scrambled eggs, sausage and French toast. The French toast tasted like egg and the eggs tasted like pure butter. The sausage didn’t even really have a flavor. My other half got the breakfast quesadilla and it was pretty greasy. Very full of ingredients but again no taste. Just grease and butter. If I went back it would be to try dinner because the breakfast wasn’t nothing to brag about.

Update: Food was great this time. Friendly staff. They did change the menu and it was much better. I had the Rios burger. The patty was pretty small but tasty and cooked perfectly to order. My husband enjoyed his meal as well.

I recently used The Butcher Block Kitchen’s catering services to provide breakfast for 30 people, 2 days in a row and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, breakfast quesadillas, sausage, bacon, fruit, we tried it all and everything was amazing. They went above and beyond to work with us on a menu for both days. The food was hot and ready when we arrived to pick it up and everything was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about our experience and would highly recommend!

Was a little hesitant at first, but really glad I found this little gem. With the prices they are at food chains this one fits the bill with food cooked to order. I recommend this if you want a homestyle breakfast on a lazy morning day. The place stayed pretty busy with incoming and outgoing traffic Customer service was very attentive. The omelette combination that I had was very good. I’m glad I found somewhere on this side of town with a Home Sweet home feel.

Arrived at 9:17am Saturday morning, received our food at 10:10, unacceptable. Our waitress was friendly and apologetic but that can only go so far. The food was ok to good, nothing to write home about. They seem to be very disorganized in that they told us to find our own seat but took 10 minutes to ask us if we’ve been helped(after others that sat 5 minutes after us had already been helped). Not to mention their till system looking like something from a 5th graders lemonade stand. Knowing they are one of the only local sit down breakfast spots in groveland I expected more and certainly better service.

The food has always been great here. It is a small, local restaurant so don’t expect anything fancy. They do serve beer and wine and it is reasonable. An average price for a meal is $15. Very friendly staff as well.

We have been to Butchers Block twice – once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both experiences were enjoyable and we came away with full bellies and leftovers for lunch then next day.

Wanted to try some local places and Butcher Block did not disappoint!! The staff was great. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and Onion Rings for appetizers and they were delish! The Onion Rings had a Funnel Cake taste to em and they were surprisingly fantastic. I ordered the Braised Beef for dinner and it was so flavorful and tasty!! We will definitely be back and look forward to trying out breakfast and lunch as well. Our bill was a little pricier per person as we ordered multiple menu items to try as much as possible!
