The first thing that grabs you is the beautiful architecture inside. It has beautiful stain glass windows, intricate woodwork on the floors and custom fireplaces. We were greeted and served quickly. The food is very good especially the seafood chowder which I had with a half as sandwich of chicken salad. There are many spots to sit including a big open covered porch. It’s been a while since I visited here and it was just as good as last time. It’s a little pricey here but worth it.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night. Friendly service. Food was excellent. My wife got scallops which had a perfect sear. I had crab cakes which were full of very nice lump meat. My mother had the salmon and cleaned her plate! My father had a hanger steak and was very pleased. The sides we’re tasty and well done. Presentation was nice. I was slightly disappointed they were out of the bone marrow appetizer but the seafood chowder was delicious as a second choice.

We went to the Buttery to celebrate our Anniversary. We were seated right away, ordered wine, and relaxed for a lovely evening. The food was perfect. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Never rushed us, but was always available. Best service and food in a long while. Perfectly enjoyable. Highly recommend. We plan to celebrate here again next year.

Fourth visit to the Buttery in two years. The first two visits were a great experience. The food was excellent and the service was great. The third visit was for brunch. The menu was extremely limited which was a disappointment. My final visit was yesterday. I made reservations for four people at one on the clock in the afternoon. Arriving at 6 PM we were seated in a room on the porch where it was well over 80°. We were told the air conditioner was not working, there were tables available with no one sitting at them in the next room which was much cooler. We asked to be moved and were told “we have reservations for those tables“. I guess we were not important enough to be seated in the air conditioning. I guess I’m going to have to find another favorite restaurant in Lewes.
