Smoked brisket melt tacos are…BUSSIN! First bite will make you say “Oh dear Lord!” I will dream about that brisket and melted smoked Gouda until next time! Patio and atmosphere are great and service was wonderful, but it wasn’t very busy. Do yourself a favor and stop by!

Overall terrible experience. Starting with the good, the waitress seems to be the only one working in the whole place. She was great. The cook staff must be smoking out back, took about two hours to get a mediocre burger and an incorrect order with it. Food came out right as we were wanting to leave after waiting so long on a not so busy day. Came out lukewarm at best and the order was wrong. Do not eat here unless you have all day. Cost was pretty high at 100$ for two people to waste a day.

We (my boyfriend and I) came in at around 12 pm on Saturday, Oct. 29. Not a game day weekend and not busy. We stood by the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. We saw only one woman actively working the entire time behind the bar, who finally came over to seat us. After that, she went back to continue to working behind the bar and waiting other tables. We sat and watched as one man began working behind the bar for a few minutes only to leave and for us to not see him again. There were two other people, that we originally assumed were customers because they were drinking and chatting at the bar, start clearing off tables outside. So are those two wait staff? If so, why are they drinking and chatting on the job? After about 30-40 minutes of waiting, the woman working the bar came to ask for our drink orders. She then went back to working behind the bar, and we proceeded to wait another 15-20 minutes before finally just leaving. I can’t even say what the food tastes or looks like since we didn’t even get menus or drinks.

We had a group of 6 tonight. Every person’s dish was great!!! My Seafood & Grits was outstanding! The Chicken Carbonara was excellent for 2 guests. The Shrimp Alfredo was rated a 5 by one. And, the fried catfish was true to Mississippi expectations! This was all of our first visits here. No one was disappointed. We will return the next trip to Starkville!!! The pic is my Seafood (shrimp and crawfish) & Grits!!! YUM

Thought we’d try The Camphouse out for lunch yesterday. Initially impressed with atmosphere when we walked in. Server was very nice and kept checking on us. Unfortunately, she was the only one for 7 or 8 tables, so things took awhile. My fish tacos and fries were very good, but chicken tenders were “meh”. May have to try again sometime.
