The Cavalier is a London-inspired brasserie, located adjacent to Hotel Zetta in San Francisco’s SoMA neighborhood. The upscale British influenced restaurant is brought to you by Executive Chef Jennifer Puccio, managing partner James Nicholas, and award winning San Francisco designer, Ken Fulk. The 135-seat restaurant is divided into four unique, intimate spaces: the Blue Bar, Main Dining Room, Wine Stables, and Rail Car. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is lovely. I was disappointed in the food given the price, although the texture on the beef fat fries was lovely. We tried the pickled deviled eggs, the steak frites, and the pole beans. Their strength clearly lies in the drinks- we had the melon blanc and trolleyed, both of which were very spirit-forward.

Appetizer was good but the main dish was really disappointing, from the food to the presentation. It looks like a take away dish from some Mediterranean restaurant not a $45 rack of lamb dish I would expect from an English restaurant. Drinks were good too. Overall I would not come back for dinner but maybe cocktails. Btw the bill was for 2 ppl and we only got 1 entree.

We were invited for a private party here and O was quite pleasantly surprised. The drinks were a bit on the strong side but the food was really good especially the steaks. But I would gladly order anything here as everything I tasted was really good. They also have a great wine to go with everything so you can stay away from the strong cocktails.

Romantic, intimate location with style. Amazing, customer oriented service. We walked in on Thursday evening, with a reservation and we’ve got seated right away. The waiter approached us immediately with water and ready to answer any qs we might have. Great collection of unique cocktails well done too! And the food… just amazing! The main dishes had a good size and were super delicious! My husband absolutely loved his pan seared scallops ♥️

Sweet restaurant. Welcome is professional and fast. The food is very good. I recommend heirloom beet salad when you test the mix of creativity and flat bottom grilled scallops plus Angus’s naked eye, when carrots meet mushrooms in a beautiful meeting.
