I have come here a few times either after or between some walks along the Wissahickon. I appreciate the fact that there’s a cute cafe at one end of the park. The food has always been good and the service is fantastic! The coffee is okay, it changed day to day so you might go on a good day or you might go on a bad one! There are a lot of tables outside available for patron use. Overall, I think this is a unique and fun cafe!

I overall have LOVED this cafe, but I’m extremely disappointed and ashamed of the way my friends were treated today. I invited my friends from out of state to one of my favorite coffee shops while I went for a run. They planned to drink coffee and get food, but first we’re settling in and chatting at their table, when my friend accidentally spilled some lotion. They were BERATED for using napkins, like they were doing something wrong for trying to clean up an HONEST ACCIDENT. They were yelled at and treated horribly by the staff who complained and created a scene over NAPKINS. I’m extremely upset with how my friends review here was replied to, where the manager defamed her character and maligned her. Telling a WOC how her behavior wasn’t “attractive” to you is EXTREMELY offensive. Saying “this is a small business not a park” is extremely presumptuous and condescending. My friends had every intention of purchasing goods up until they were yelled at publicly. I understand this is a small business, but they just lost my friends as customers who would have spent likely 20/30 dollars between coffee and food.

My boyfriend and a couple other friends came there today. My boyfriend and I were from out of town. Unfortunately, when we got settled, we discovered my boyfriend’s lotion exploded in his backpack. We were doing our best to clean up the mess and then someone who works at the coffee shop screamed at us and was extremely disrespectful. Not only did she scream at us, she did this in front of other customers which was extremely disrespectful and distasteful. We had no ill intent and didn’t deserve such treatment. I am not sure if this was racially motivated or not, but nobody deserves to be spoken to the way we were spoken to. It was a really unfortunate experience to have as tourists in a beautiful city. I would have given 0 stars if that was an option. The manager or some of the employees are very particular so remember to ask before using anything.

Amazing breakfast sandwich but, more importantly, it’s nestled in the woods at the entrance of Forbidden Dr. Squirrels, chipmunks, and birds are gathered around thrown peanuts and feeders around the cafe. There are indoor and outdoor seats, some on a hill hidden behind the cafe. It is a near perfect aesthetic. Also, they serve la colombe coffee and ice cream.

Loved the bagels. Long line, but can see why. Great place to sit under the trees and people watch. Lots of healthy people around.

We loved our experience there this morning. We had a delicious breakfast sandwich and a piece of the spinach quiche and they didn’t disappoint. We also had the Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate. Very very happy with everything.

Pesto grilled cheese sandwich was great. It’s a small place where you order at the register and they call your name when the food is ready.

I try to make it to The Cedars House once a week. The food here is always on point along with the service. Not only that, but it’s also consistent. You can tell that the staff have a passion for what they are doing.
