On a northbound driving trip through Alabama we stopped in at this unassuming place for a bite (so as to avoid the usual fare at typical roadside fast food chains). In so doing we met the mayor, the police chief and a retired journalist having lunch together at one of the tables. What ensued was a conversation for the ages — and some 100% delicious food from the amazingly friendly owners. What a great decision to stop by. The experience left us in such a great mood the rest of the day. Very much recommend.
