The Club Car Menu – Nantucket, MA

Type : Restaurant

Location : Nantucket, MA

The Club Car bar is housed in the last remaining railroad
car on the island, a relic from the now-defunct Nantucket
Railroad Company. The “iron horse” used to whisk islanders along the waterfront to the nearby fishing village of ‘Sconset.
Over time all that remained was a single carriage, fittingly
converted into a restaurant. From its humble diner beginnings, The Club Car has always
been a warm and welcoming space known for its amicable atmosphere, enticing fare, cocktails and beverages. The piano, a later addition, contributes to its lively ambiance and intimacy. The Club Car welcomes you to enjoy a fresh and innovative menu and our warm and friendly bar.

California-inspired fare in a restaurant attached to a retrofitted railway car that’s a lively bar. Based on 218 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.3 stars. Price $$$$

DISCLAIMER: Don’t get the soup, they provide one ounce worth of soup. It’s truly ridiculous for nearly $30. Also, we got 2 entrees each and were still hungry when we left. It was pretty slow and yet we waited 30 minutes for a refill, after our meal was over when I was parched, I had to ask the waiter to PLEASE provide a refill. The bill was absurd I actually laughed at it after the experience we had because this was not fine dining. The establishment itself also could’ve had a bit more of an intentional presentation to compensate for their prices, service and insufficient plate offerings. Don’t come here

Unfortunately we came here for drinks & snacks and were lied to by the bartender about what beers were available. Asked for one of the cisco beers and was told they were out, then asked for another kind and they were out of that too. Ended up getting a higher priced drink but then a little while later another person ordered the same cisco beer and it was served no problem. Seems like we were misled into inflating our tab because we were in full view of the beverage cooler the entire time and it wasn’t restocked. Food was mediocre at best… fried haloumi cheese + steak tartare were flavorless. Won’t be returning, there are better places for us to give our business to.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The appetizers came out cold, the scallops were fishy/not fresh, and the main dishes had so much oil it was pooled on the plates. The service was good, but food was a huge disappointment. We will not be going back.

Had cocktails at the bar, in the Club Car. Pretty good experience. A good mix of locals and tourists.

Fell in love with this place, both the atmosphere and the menu, upon a recent visit for Sunday brunch. The waitress was kind enough to guide me through the cocktails menu, which included some drinks that weren’t gluten free, and let me know the entire menu (!) was gluten free – they can sub out gluten free bread in any of the toasts. I had the shakshuka with 2 pieces of what tasted like homemade gf toast and a painkiller and was blown away by both. Definitely going back.
