What a fun spot! After working in Jamaica, I’m always on the hunt for good jerk chicken. This didn’t disappoint! Not only was it super fresh and flavorful, they tailored the spicy heat to my request.

Went to Poke the Bear. The guy behind the counter went above and beyond for me. He even steamed up the rice to make it “sticky” for me and gave me an extra kind of sauce when I got “sauce jealous” of my husband’s order behind me. It was absolutely delicious! I would go back again in a heartbeat!

We came here on our recent road trip because we couldn’t agree on a spot to get some lunch. Steamboat has so many great options.

Edit two: they refunded the $18 chicken part of my order, as well as updated their description. I am all for admitting and fixing mistakes, so you earned back 2 stars.

This review is long over due. My husband and I spent several hours at The Commons Food Hall when they first opened in January. We take an annual ski trip to Steamboat, so we were delighted to stumble across this new venue during our rest day. We enjoyed meat patties from Sizzlin Jamaican Cuisine, poke bowls from Poke the Bear, and cocktails from the Common Bar. Everything was delicious and service was excellent–very friendly and attentive. There were hardly any people there, so we enjoyed a mostly quiet and private experience at one of the upstairs booths. I imagine the vibe will completely change as this place gains transaction and becomes more crowded. For us, it was the perfect place to get away from the base of the mountain, knock out a few hours of work, and enjoy relatively affordable and delicious food & drinks. I’m looking forward to returning next year!

Awesome Poke bowl. Perfect amount of rice for the toppings and mix-ins. Great sauces and pickled veggies. Atmosphere has good energy and chill. Prices are very good for a ski resort town. Definitely recommend!

There’s poke bowls in Steamboat! And Poke the Bear makes some darn good bowls – I’ve had a lot of poke in Colorado and this spot may be my favorite. The owner Jake was so awesome, explaining all of the ingredients and best flavor combos. I can’t wait to go back and try another poke bowl!

Love this new spot in town! Poke the Bear made us both the most yummy spicy tuna bowls and there is a common bar too!

New concept / shared venue for multiple niche vendors. Ample seating over 2 floors, QR code + online ordering. Full bar. It’s brand new so not everything ran perfectly (some items out of stock, etc) but everyone was friendly and helpful. Good Wifi if you need to laptop for a bit before returning to the slopes. Casual coffee-shop kind of vibe. Enjoyed our visit and will return.

Honestly, The Commons has my favorite seafood options in town between the Jamaican and Poke joint. I would bankrupt myself at this establishment if I had no self control. On top of the convenient location, the space is clean and ambient. Everyone that works here is pretty cool too. 5/5 yummies pls go
