I have to say, I love the atmosphere of this place. The lighting sets a relaxing mood. And nothing aids digestion like Frank’s Sinatra playing low in the background. The servers were great and the food is always good. I had the salmon and the bacon appetizer. Both were fantastic. The wait wasn’t long at all and I was there nearly 2 hours. I could’ve stayed longer but my beer tab was getting high. I definitely recommend if you have a decent layover!

They told me it’s the best burger in town, but it’s less than average and it came well done instead of medium as I requested. Service is very slow.. so you need about 35 minutes at least to get your food. Under staffed! Ambience is nice and good variety of drinks

The menu is very select; not too many items, but everything that we’ve tried on the menu has been excellent. When traveling to various places across the US, we are typically surprised that our Minneapolis main airport has the best dining and snack options. There are many full restaurant options available. The Cook The Ox is centrally located at Terminal 1; and we like that. It lives up to our expectations being a premier steakhouse by local James Beard Award nominee chef Jack Riebel.

Worst service EVER!! Upon entering I was told the food would take about 30 minutes and was asked if I had time. Once sat I saw about 15 people in the place and 4 servers working. It took 15 minutes and a manager to finally get a server to come take my order. Place my order of water and wine, then The fish and chips. 15 minutes later I got the water, followed by the food but still waited another 10 minutes for my glass of wine. Meaning it took 25 minutes to get that. Good wasn’t bad and faster then I thought but the service was horrible. As I write this I have now sat here for an hour and a half waiting for a refill and my bill. Servers completely ignore the customers and are clueless. I do not recommend this place and will never be back even though I come through this airport twice a week.

Absolutely disgusting establishment, even for airport fare. Pictured below is exactly how they served my daughter’s burger. Husband’s medium rare ordered burger came well done and had no salt on it. My French onion soup was at least a week old, littered with onion peels, and the crouton had turned to rubber after at least 40 minutes under a heat lamp. We payed $120 for this atrocity. Owner was completely clueless, or more likely simply doesn’t care. She was dancing with her cooks in the kitchen instead of observing our and other tables’ obvious displeasure. Do not let her rob you like she did us.
