Seated quick. However, our server was a middle aged woman with brown hair that didn’t communicate to us that they were out of biscuits and gravy until I already placed my order for a dish that comes with biscuits and gravy. She was so freaking rude! Their air conditioning didnt work and it took forever and we ended up leaving. They brought three different tables that were seated after us their food first. Our waitress doesn’t belong in the restaurant business her customer service skills are non existent. If I could give a lower rating I would. Worst restaurant I’ve ever been to.

First time in Nicholasville and first time here! Great experience! Everyone was friendly and the food was delish! We had chicken fried steak, catfish sandwich and fried shrimp-everything was fried the way it should be, the steak was super tender and great authentic white gravy! Will be coming back!

Just had a delicious dinner at this cute restaurant. The meatloaf was amazing. Fried cabbage & mac & cheese were both good. Our server, Pauline, was friendly & attentive. Food was better than Ramsey’s & much more reasonably priced. We need to dine here more often!

This is my first time trying it. We got the big J cheeseburgers, and they were awesome. Tater tots were wonderful and crunchy. The onion rings were the same, very good! We will be back, and try some of the different items they offer like the Open Face roast beef.

Not impressed. My family went to this dump one Sunday morning, We weren’t greeted at all by a hostess or waitress as they were busy with other customers, we waited for at least 8 mins by the register but to no acknowledgement… So we bounced. About 4 days later, our dinner arrangements didn’t go as planned so we went out to a few other restaurants but they were either too busy or closing. So… we tried the Cottage Cafe one more time. Unfortunately and the same situation occurred, we weren’t greeted by anyone!!!

Atmosphere is in the eye of the beholder. This is a relaxed cafe in a country style with good food. It’s like the place in movies where two old guys are drinking coffee and know the waitresses by name. Food reminded me of moms. Almost went to the kitchen to see if she was back there cooking.
