Lovely experience. The food was light and so so fresh! The service was attentive as well. The location is next to the Payne-Corley House and the gardens are beautiful. They also host private events. Everything we tried was delicious but the French onion soup was the star.

This was a quaint and delightful little place to visit. I took my wife for a belated Valentine’s Day date and she really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

I love the atmosphere and the service was great. There aren’t as many breakfast style brunch dishes as I expected to be on the menu, but the food was very good. You get scones with your order and you can order these in advance and take out a dozen or two. If you are in the area, it is worth checking out. I highly recommend making reservations or you may not get a chance to dine when you feel like dropping in.

The Cottage on Main really hit all the Mark’s! 5 stars from my family for their awesome staff, great location and amazing food for my nephew’s rehearsal dinner! My sister and I were allowed into the venue in plenty of time to decorate and George even assisted us with simple items we forgot. When we returned for dinner at 6:00 we were feasted with a large selection of amazing food! We had small appetizers served while we were mingling at the bar and also while seated at the table. The homemade Southern style Pimento cheese is to die for. My adult family members had the pleasure of ordering each of the entrees

Intimate beautiful historic home that serves lunch.First the atmoshere cool and elegant white tablecloth but far from overly formal nice.Warm and welcoming started with the scones they were dense and fluffy with dried sultanas (raisins) and served with the most delish marmalaide butter. I followed with the pimento cheese dip served with butter crackers and celery. The dip was homemade with freshly grated new york cheddar, pimento in a creamy nufetal creamcheese. The main course was my go to when there are so many great choices and you have trouble deciding. The salmon salad on spring mix with fresh fetta garden tomatos and a bright zesty rasberry vinnagrette. The salmon was cooked perfectly with simple elegant seasoning nested atop the greens thinly sliced bermudas and english cucumber the dressing is served on the side. The staff is attentive and made me feel like a long time friend. This place is quietly nestled between the lush grounds adjacent to the famed Payne-Corley house best romatic place for outdoor wedding and reception, one would mistake it for part of the complex as I did a modestly priced lunch in a cool Victorian home awesome. The best kept secret in Duluth.

Absolutely delightful. I can’t wait to go back and try something else on varied menu. Loved my quich of the day and cucumber salad. Southern Charm, white table clothes. Wonder George was our waiter. Oh, the scones are scrumptious. Need I say more

The in laws wanted to host a rehearsal dinner and decided to go with The Cottage as it was part of Payne Corley. It was close and the best part is that the people who coordinated our wedding could get in contact with The Cottage to have everything set and ready as soon as we were finished with the rehearsal.

It was our first time here today. We enjoyed everything: the atmosphere, food, service, and prices. They have a bookcase with nice books too. We will be back!
