I heard good things about it so I had to experience it myself. Arrived and asked the cashier what she recommended and she read the whole menu for me so I just picked a chicken sandwich and my partner ordered the chicken tenders basket. She never told me the sandwich didn’t come with fries even though I said I wanted the combo with the drink. Took forever to get the meal so I was expecting the food to be made by angels since it takes them a while to get there. The sandwich was half a quarter of an inch thick so thin it wasn’t a chicken sandwich but a everything else I they put in the sandwich sandwich. The lettuce was bad like they used old lettuce so it was bitter. The onions was burnt and the bread was stale plus no fries. After the first bite I wanted to cry but I didn’t want to be rude so I took couple more bites so I could hide the sandwich properly in the little wrap it came in. The chicken tenders were so dry I could start a fire with it. It tasted like it had been sitting for hours and the fries were so hard you could make powdered fries with the dust. All for $40 bucks. I’d do not recommend. But maybe you’ll have a better food experience than I did.

Visiting San Diego, before leaving we stopped at The Crack Shack, this place did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was very good and service was fantastic! I wished we have one at NorCal, hoping near future please! I had the power bowl, delicious, daughter had Coop DeVille, very delicious and moist, husband had the Firebird, he said it was awesome! We shareya side of fries, so crunchy and just the right amount of salty goodness. We tried all of their sauces, we specifically love love the pineapple mustard, I can drink that straight! We also tried their ube shake with cookie crumble, we got lucky, they only had one order left, this was so creamy and ubelicious! I’m glad we skipped breakfast and had this instead.

During my work visit to San Diego, I stumbled upon The Crack Shack, a local restaurant near my hotel, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! Despite ordering takeout, my experience was memorable from start to finish.

First fried chicken sandwich from CS., $17+ for sandwich and fries. The batter was somewhat flavorless or less seasoned as expected or the slaw overwhelmed the batter. Chicken breast a bit dry for my standards. Good bun. Fries were good dipped in ranch. I’d say it was ok, but I still prefer Chick Fil-A I guess because the chicken is always tender and flavorful. 4 stars for portion and good service, atmosphere.

While the ambiance was quite good and the presentation was also appetizing, the food quality did not live ip to my expectations, chicken was a bit smelly and oil was constantly dripping from my sandwich. Judging from the reviews and ratings this very well might be an outlier.

The crack shack was one of the popular restaurants I had to visit on my recent trip, but I was wholly unimpressed.

We first came across this place in Las Vegas and were very excited knowing they had a local location in San Diego. We ended up ordering the same sandwiches, they are just that good. We shared the Firebird and Cali Drip with Shack Fries. Very delicious.

We ordered the Señor croque, the Reubenstein, and an order of biscuits. The Señor croque was delicious. I definitely recommend that one. The Reubenstein was pretty good but not quite as good as the Señor croque. The biscuits themselves were good, but the butter that came with them was terrible. It was described as miso-maple, but it would have been much better if it was some sort of honey butter.

The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had!! It’s pricey, but worth it! Great atmosphere here to hang out and enjoy the weather with the great food and beer served at the bar.
