This one was a tuff one to review. The waitress was super friendly. Which in turn kept the review from a 3. 1st it’s cash only. Has an atm inside but it had no cash inside so I had to go to a gas station to pay. 2nd, the restroom needs attention. Having tp on the floor was kinda gross. The toilet also has a serious wobble. The eggs were good. Fries/hashbrowns were interesting. The steak looked a bit small but was okay. Again the waitress was nice & had it not been for her the review would’ve been lower.

I’m a senior now and have been going since my move in freshman year 2020. More often than not Kathy has served me and always has done a 20/10 job. Staff is always efficient and attentive and while other people say they are understaffed I believe the small staff they have does an excellent job and does what they can to provide an amazing experience. Their corned beef hash on alternating and home football weekends is outstanding, pancakes and French toast is to die for, and every other breakfast I’ve ordered has been top notch. They are an absolute must to visit when visiting Madison and all undergrads should take advantage of their excellent prices and amazing food. Love the Curve!

Excellent home-made corned beef hash! The most friendly and attentive service you’ll find anywhere. A small diner feel where everyone who comes in the door is made to feel welcome. The somewhat dated decor might discourage some; don’t let that discourage you. You’ll be missing out on a great thing!

This was our first visit to The Curve. It was outstanding. It was beyond outstanding. The atmosphere was that of a classic comfortable diner. The one and only waiter was on top of our every desire, sometimes even before we knew what we desired. The chef made the most perfect over easy eggs I have ever had. I ordered a side of onion rings with my breakfast, and the chef delivered them himself. He said, “Who the hell ordered onion rings?” When I told him it was me, he said, with a big smile on his face, “Good choice!” But what struck me the most about The Curve were the “regulars”. We arrived at about 10:45AM, which I suspect is after the breakfast rush and before the lunch rush. For the next hour we watched at least a dozen customers arrive, eat, and sometimes leave. It was clear that the waiter, the chef, or both knew each one of them by name, and frequently by order. More than once I saw someone sit down at a table, have no interaction with the waiter, but be served exactly what they expected, within a couple minutes. It’s not easy to make outstanding food, but lots of restaurants can do it. It’s not easy to create an environment that feels like home, and virtually no restaurants can do it. The Curve succeeds on both counts. We will be back, over and over and over again.

Food was decent, although very basic. Service was pretty awful, we finished and waited 15m trying to pay and the waitress was running to the back , talking to people, and generally doing anything but taking our money. Seemed to be lots of regulars, maybe that’s what it takes.

What fun! A true diner/truck stop/greasy spoon! We 6 needed a place for lunch and landed here. Pretty good breakfast and lunch menu, great fries. Authentic Americana atmosphere…we ate at the counter! Would go there again

We recently visited this place. Good diner food. Great people working. Be prepared to wait for a table (very small) and for service (they have 3 people working) and have cash. It is worth it though.

This cafe needs a serious update and make over. Food was cheap but the cafe was somewhat dirty and dilapidated looking. Food was oily and not tasty, would not visit again. Staff was friendly though and my breakfast was just $8.75

Something I find very special about this place is the relationship between the customers and Jeffrey (manager?). It seems the majority of the people here are regulars and they talk to both Jeffrey and each other. Therefore, this restaurant has a great sense of community. I ordered my American fries crispy and a mushroom cheese omelette. As you can see in the picture the egg in the omelette is almost crepe like instead of fluffy and there is a lot of cheese. I enjoyed having an omelette this way. I would have enjoyed if there were more vegetable add-ons to put in the omelette. The coffee was great and Jeff was great about refilling it and checking if I wanted refills. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a “classic American breakfast.”
