The food is consistently good here; the service was very friendly but a tad on the slow side, so if you are in a hurry, let them know. We were in no rush so we didn’t mind enjoying a leisurely dinner. the ambience is casual and sort of loud; outside is quieter but there is some road noise. Overall I really like this place and plan to return. I ordered the seared tuna over seaweed salad. Excellent!

Had an awesome experience at the elbow room for dinner! The atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed the live music! Table set up was decent. During the dinner crowd, staffing seemed short, but it was clear they were stressed and doing their best.

The food was very good. I think it may be the first time I ordered food at a restaurant and couldn’t finish it. The portions were excellent. The menu had more than I expected. The wait staff was was cool and very attentive. Someone in our party dropped silverware on the floor and it was replaced before she could even ask. It was a little busy but I’m assuming it is a popular local spot with a lot of regular customers. My son lives nearby now so I will certainly be back.

Great spot!!! Made reservations online and when we got there even though it was SUPER busy, our table was cleaned and ready to go for us! Our server, Luke, was great, the portions were generous and we were really thrilled with everything.

To get straight to the point, my family and I were shocked at how incredible the food is here. We live in the area and ate dinner at The Elbow Room for my birthday a few weeks ago. We still talk about how amazing the roasted cauliflower was (we’ve been making it for decades, but this was 10/10 delicious). I tried the fried calamari w/ sweet chili sauce (which sounded like an odd combo at first), but again, so surprisingly delicious that even weeks later, I decided I needed to write this review to let the people know! Last but not least, the fried flounder sandwich was just straight-up really good. It was a birthday meal for the books, for sure. Probably the best wine and beer prices you’ll find too. Overall incredible value. Although there are a lot of great options across the shore towns, don’t sleep on The Elbow Room!

Love the short ribs there. They’re always perfect and the mashed potatoes a perfect match. My wife had the guacamole and the kale salad, which she really enjoyed as well. One shortcoming though: the prices on the menu haven’t been updated. There is a disclaimer on each table that warns the patrons that because of fast rising costs they can’t update the menus regularly as that would be too expensive. Unfortunately, that also means you don’t know how much you’re going to pay for each item until you get the check; for example, the short ribs are $28 not $26. Not a big difference but still, not a fair practice… Couldn’t management just print updated menus off a regular printer? Certainly that wouldn’t cost too much… Just a thought

This is what a local neighborhood pub is supposed to be. Simple, friendly, good food ( nothing too fancy), fair prices and local craft beers. Don’t let the secret out that there are real world alternatives to the over-priced and over-pretentious choices in nearby Asbury Park. You might not be able to get a table.

Food was very good. We got the pretzel and boneless wings. Pretzel was soft and the cheese sauce complemented it well. The wings weren’t too spicy. I’m not a huge spice fan. I ordered the Cajun chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The sauce was very good. However, the chicken could have been cut thinner against the grain to help with it’s chewiness.
