Nice neighborhood diner. Has been under several owners the last few years. Each has had their own take on food. Since I usually go to diner for breakfast this is the standards. Just glad to still have a place we can walk to.

First of all its not the Fiddlehead Diner I once knew. The Diner has changed hands and menu’s… I didn’t know before heading over of the changes, no longer country style food and desserts. It is now sandwiches, pizza, calzones etc. and NY style cheese cake for dessert.

The servers where nice. That is about the best thing I can say about the place. The “decor” could have been overlooked had the food tasted ok. How can you screw up green beans? Mine where very dark in color and had an off taste. Other food was obviously reheated. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

Good, basic diner food. Reasonable priced. Downside is that all the patrons’ chairs are “children’s” height and difficult for many seniors especially to get up from. This in turn keeps a lot of people from returning again or as many times as they would with standard height chairs present. I want to see them succeed. Better tables and chairs would help

I got the breakfast with bacon, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. it’s was putrid. the bacon was OLD. it had the texture of jerky. the sausage didn’t even taste like meat. the biscuit and gravy was decent, but really bland. i’m beyond disappointed cause everyone else liked their food. it shouldn’t be legal to sell food that burt, old, and basically inedible. i’m hoping I don’t get sick from this.

Don’t waste your time because they don’t mind wasting yours. Our family of four adults went inside to dine. We had to fit four of us at a table positioned against the wall which would only seat three comfortably. We waited 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. She walked up with no menus and said, ” Your wait time after ordering will be one hour”. We got up and left the diner, choosing to dine at a nicer Mexican restaurant in Galax. The Fiddlehead Diner is a hole in the wall with staff that ignores the presence of paying customers. It looks like a dive inside and has a very cold atmosphere with staff just as cold. Go to Aunt Bea’s Restaurant in Galax if you want home cooking. If you want to add some spice to life, try El Torito.
