First time visiting Fools Lantern. Very nice space and had a very friendly greeting. Good selection of beer and wine. Interesting menu. We had the deviled eggs and lamb lollipops. Both were great. We heard it might be a tad on the pricey side and I’d have to agree. Even so, we will be back.

A M A Z I N G !!!!! The setup is that you get a card to use to sample/pour your choice of a variety of beers & wine. The menu is absolutely fabulous & we’ll balanced. There is something for everyone & if there isn’t they will find something. The Chef Shawn was kind enough to come out to me when there was a dietary restriction. He wanted to make something that would work & it did! He is amazing, creative & went the extra mile. The Owners happened to be there & they were the sweetest people you could meet. This is a business that you should support. Not only because it’s superior but the people who make it up are exceptional. Wonderful staff, bravo

I was in St Michael’s for a long weekend with some friends (in April – I am behind on my reviews)!. It was Friday late morning and we didn’t realize that the winery down the street didn’t open until noon s owe were looking to kill some time. The Fool’s Lantern was newly open (like pretty brand new!) and we saw the self-serve wine machines which are always fun.

A chic addition to the St. Mike’s scene, that seems to still be under the radar enough for a more intimate atmosphere.

Loved our late lunch at The Fool’s Lantern! We did not partake of any beer or wine tap but the food was great! Their beer cheese/fondue with some nice fresh pretzels is yum.

Wonderful addition to St. Michaels. Great food and friendly staff. A nice selection of pour your own beer, wine and Bloody Mary bar. Indoor air conditioned seating, window seating and outdoor seating in comfy Adirondack chairs. Had the Eggs Benedict Trio and a Blood Mary, perfect way to start the day.

The town of St. Michaels is known through local lore for “fooling the British” during the War of 1812 by using lanterns to misdirect enemy gunfire high above the town…. I don’t know is this is accurate, but I do know we had a great lunch at The Fool’s Lantern! They have self serve beer and wine and the best hot crab dip we’ve ever had. My baked Brie in a flaky puff pastry was amazing. My husband had the colossal soft crab sandwich and we shared the salted caramel cheesecake dip. They have a great selection of wine and beer ! Our server was super friendly ! If you find yourself in St. Michael’s, do yourself a favor and check this new hot spot out!

This is a very cool place in St. Michael’s and a cut above the usual tourist trap places that the area is known for. Great selection of wines and beers and you serve yourself. Wait staff is attentive and friendly and caters to your needs. Food was good, we ordered the Vino Board and frankly the meats should never have been served – they looked, smelled, and tasted old. The cheeses and everything else were great.

Everything we’ve had was really good. The staff are the best. The chef can cook! I like the concept of self-serve beer and wine. You can get 2 oz tastes to be sure you’ll like it, and whoever chose the wines did an excellent job.
