The Forest Nook is a family owned restaurant that started in 2004. We offer a variety of food, and we specialise in more Italian/ dinner meals. We are currently only a seasonal restaurant. We are only open beginning from Memorial day. And then close on Labor day.

It’s unfortunate that a lovely little place nestled in the woods has such ill-mannered staff. I don’t like to write negative reviews, but this needs to be said. Four of us (ages 50-70) had spent the day on the river, and we didn’t have reservations, but we stopped by to have a quick drink before heading home. It was not quite 5 PM, and the restaurant was empty but for a few tables.

This place is great! Excellent homemade food and great ambiance. Nice outdoor seating and owner was very accommodating during this pandemic with limited seating availability. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing meal while enjoying what the park has to offer.

A nice place to stop for a bite to eat in Cook’s Forest. While some of the fóod is ordinary fare, it is always done nicely, and they always have a few surprises in the menu. The fish tacos, for example, have large pieces of fish, perfectly done. The desserts are also much more than you’d expect in a little roadside place like this. Most of the seating is on the porch, which is nice when you are out in the woods, with plenty of parking.

This is a wonderful spot! We have been looking for a go to place for when we visit Cook Forest and we finally found it. Great food and service. They really take care of the place and it shows! The young waitress we had in the pink shirt was perfect. She was attentive and knowledgeable. All in all we loved the experience and will be back soon. If you are in the area stop in and grab a bite, you won’t regret it!

Best lil Nook in the Forest, BY FAR!! Food was amazing, atmosphere is gorgeous, staff is friendly and service is too notch! Highly recommend coming on a Friday for the fish fry, crab cakes or one of their many specials. Make a reservation tho, especially for larger parties!! 5/5 stars once again…

The open air setting was great and bug free despite being outside, and everyone’s food was great, especially the mozzarella sticks. It was also wonderful that it was pet friendly for the outdoor seating and we were able to take our bird out to her first restaurant!

This was the first time we’ve eaten here and most likely was the last. the food was absolutely horrible. my husband and I both had Italian dishes so I can only judge that section of the menu. the salad was ridiculous, lettuce a few cucumbers and grape tomatoes. the sauce was awful so sweet, it tasted like a bottle of karo syrup was in it. My eggplant was mushy and the breading soggy and the garlic toast was sweet as well! who wants sweet garlic toast. my meal was expensive an inedible! my Husbands was equally as bad. He complained of burping awful sauce all evening. we boxed up the food for the dog and went to McDonalds where even the quarter pounder was better than the meal we got at the forest nook. I gave the service 4 stars, because our waitress was prompt, courteous and friendly.

Really cute place in the woods with delicious food. We went on a very rainy Saturday evening. The hostess greeted us and asked if we had reservations (we did not) however it didn’t seem to be a problem, she quickly went and got a table ready on the porch. The hot pepper cheese balls were a great appetizer. Really good chicken salad We enjoyed our meal outside (even in a hard rain), the porch was perfect! We have a camp nearby and will ABSOLUTELY be returning soon and often!
