The Historic Forks provides a Deli, Country Store, Bar & Restaurant and Gasoline for Tourists and Locals. Established in 1875. The Forks was originally built to accommodate loggers back in the Winter of 1874 who were traveling between Fort Collins to Pingree Hill, then over the Divide to Steamboat Springs. The original building was burned in a fire, but it was rebuilt to resemble it. More recently, it has been renovated to accommodate bands in the upstairs bar area. The newly renovated bar area is upstairs and features a pool table, live music on occasional Saturday nights, and an outdoor upstairs patio! I didn’t eat any food here but this was a pretty interesting place to stop at. It has definitely been here forever and the owners did well in revamping it for tourists. I even bought a challenge coin here, there’s only 100 made so get yours while you can. They have a nice little coffee bar here for your pick me up so you can continue on your way. If your in the area do yourself a favor and check out this small piece of history

I have really enjoyed this restaurant over the past 6 years. The food is generally very good and the people who work there have always been great. The only downside has been the dwindling menu options. I do miss some of the options that where offered in the past, and I’m sure the change of ownership probably has had an effect on the menu. I would recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.

The people at this place are awesome. There was a very intense storm that popped up this afternoon with extremely heavy rain and hail. Lots of motorcycles out that got caught in it. We were one of them. They let everyone take shelter here and come inside even though everyone was soaked to the bone. The service at the restaurant was awesome, excellent atmosphere. Good kind people! They could have kicked us all out because everyone was dripping water all over but they were very kind and said don’t worry about it.

Nice thoughtful response from the owner results in an upgrade in rating. If is fair to add the last time we ate there the food was good to very good. Service has always been very good and it’s a fun place. We were there around 6:00pm Friday evening and hoping to get a full dinner meal. The only options were the specials which because of a health issue didn’t work for me since they were spicy. Disappointing menu for dinner, no entrees or evening meals offered, except specials. Otherwise good menu. Very good and nice service and fun facility. Food was average this time bit has Bern good in the past.

I got lost when I make a wrong turn. I was really looking for the gas station. I didn’t know that this was the one. I drove all the in till I stop a nice lady on the road all the way at the back. Followed her car back to this place. The cashier here gave me directions back to Laramie. They gave me tips on woman travelling alone. Wonderful and friendly people. I love this place

My spouse and I took my mom and four-year-old kid here for dinner on the 4th of July after we took a nice scenic drive through the mountains. They had a limited menu, but were very accommodating! The chicken nachos I had were great.
