My dining experience at The Gallery was a combination of culinary excellence and artistic stimulation. Definitely a standout choice for a memorable date or dinner with a friend. The ambiance is very modern but also sophisticated. We had several fish dishes from the menu and they all were exceptional delicious. The presentation of each dish was stunning as well with all the little details. My favorite dish was toro tartar must try! My friend really liked an uni set. The service was also amazing. Our waitress was super attentive, helpful and pleasant. Will definitely go again for a special day:)

I had a great time here during restaurant week. The entrance had a charming, low-key vibe with a minimalist black glass design, evoking Japanese aesthetics. The warm and friendly waitress made the dining experience delightful, guiding us through each exquisite dish. The chic concept of the restaurant, with wooden chopsticks thoughtfully accompanied by leaves on the table, created a cozy and unique ambiance. Overall, it was an amazing but pricey experience.

The food was decent. The paper pot boiling udon at the table was an experience. The atmosphere was so chic. I think I would go try more stuff next time. The chef’s choice of sushi set was a bit disappointing though.

Amazing lighting/ambience. Tasting menu is very good. Starts with and pretty solid sushi + udon combo. Will recommend order a second portion of udon to go with the extra soup.

Had an excellent meal as a first-time visitor. The food was so incredible and we loved everything that we got. We were two and we had the tasting menu, hall signature burger and chef’s sashimi. All the dishes especially the toro tartare and kushiage (we got mushroom, scallop and chicken) were outstanding. Lots of flavors and is extremely delicious. I fell in love with their Moctail – it was super refreshing and amazing together with all the food. Also love the ice cream with Japanese fruits. It was the most delicious ice cream I have ever eaten.

Overall, I really liked the experience. Personally, I found the sushi/sashimi part itself to be good but not outstanding. I did love the tartare, tempura and shabu shabu. Truly delish. Our server was incredible nice. Place was kind of empty so vibes felt a little bit too quiet but it could have been the time we went to (on the late side of lunch). I’d definitely still recommend and I’ll recommend ordering a la carte and trying appetizers and shabu shabu.

Ordered the chicken wings and edamame to start and they were the best part of the whole meal. For the main course we got the skewer tasting which came with 6 skewers, only 3 of them were good. The wagyu didn’t have any flavor. $200 was way over priced for the quality of the food. We noticed there was no art around so I asked the waiter where the art was and she lead us upstairs to another bar area, with no art. We were seated in the back room and saw multiple mice running around and up the walls. We informed the bartender/ waiter and then he ignored us for about 30 minutes and we walked up to him and asked to close out. We paid $50 for two drinks in a mouse infested room.. super disappointed in this restaurant. I would not go back or recommend to anyone. This shouldn’t be a michelin star restaurant.

Art + food, two of my favorite things in one place. @the.gallery.nyc is definitely high up in my list of places to go to in the city now! I love the concept of having curated art in the same space of high quality food. The interior design is simple but very comfortable and classy. Also did I say the food was amazing?

the restaurant is beautiful and so cool! there’s a different exhibit every time you go. the menu explains the exhibit and has a menu item inspired by the art… super cool! the sushi was very good- we loved the bleu cheese king crab roll… it was so good we ordered another one. the burger was a little bit of a miss- the bun was a little stale and the patty was cold. everything else was excellent- the service, vibes, and sushi. also the nagoya chicken wings are a must!
