The food was fine it definitely hit the spot. However the menu was misleading. The Monte Cristo said it came with maple syrup. What actually came to the table though was corn syrup. This is New England and the expectation is to have real maple syrup. So please update the menu to say just “syrup” or “corn syrup”. I’d be happy to pay a surcharge to have the real stuff.

Visited on the recommendation of friends and we weren’t disappointed. Omelets and egg dishes were perfectly cooked and the made-in-house muffins were super yummy. Our server was engaging and very thorough in taking care of our requests. We will definitely add the “Egg” to our next trip to Portsmouth.

I don’t often review any restaurant but this particular experience was compelling enough to warn others. I placed a to-go order for two adults and two kids and politely asked the hostess to read the order back to me which she got correct. After driving 20 minutes to pick up the food I felt rushed out of there because the takeout orders, cashier register, and incoming done-in customers all had to flow through the same hostess desk. I simply put good faith that the two bags I was walking out with had the correct orders. By the time I got back to our hotel with two very hungry kids it became apparent that they didn’t just get one part of the order wrong but multiple parts. They forgot the scrambled egg for one of my kids, charged me extra for a side of bacon when it came with one of the orders, completely forgot the corned beef hash, and the parfait came with a half a pound of granola with enough yogurt to fit in a ketchup container. The last part felt almost an insult or perhaps a major oversight if I’m giving the benefit of the doubt. I understand being in the service industry and getting overwhelmed but this was completely ridiculous. When I called back they told me that it wasn’t part of the order to begin with even though I said the hostess read the order back to me correctly. Then they said that they could put the order together and it would be ready in 30 minutes. I told them I’m not going to drive 45 minutes RT when my kids are already cranky and hungry because they don’t have their food. They did not want to refund the money or even deliver the rest of the order. Rather than try to argue with them any further I simply gave up and put something together for my kids. I have been a host, busser, and server in the past. If I was on the other end of that call I would have done the absolute most I could to rectify the situation rather than try to rush off the phone. Maybe society is just used to doing much less in 2023 but my recommendation to this restaurant is to do better.

Great breakfast spot, and the lunch looks good as well. My wife and I both had omelets. Mine was the Tuscan and was very good. I do have one suggestion, have marinara sauce on the side or as an extra. My wife had the veggie and she said it was very good. They are three egg omelets. Next, the baked beans! No breakfast spot in New England should have beans and theirs were ver good

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Service is friendly and attentive. Omelette amazing, delicious home fries, yummy muffins and excellent flavored coffee (maple cinnamon was today’s flavor). I can’t wait to go back!!!

Great service, but the food is not that good. Pancakes were not like the golden egg used to make, home fries weren’t crispy just soft potato. Would rather go to Street or Friendly Toast food wise.
