Great pool, great location and great in-hotel restaurant dinner but breakfast service was underwhelming.

Have ordered take out a couple of times from The Grey Market (TGM). I’ve had the curry chicken salad sandwich and roasted beet and feta sandwich from their Grab ‘n’ Go selections. Both sandwiches were tasty. Another time I ordered take out I had the TGM burger with roasted beets.

1st visit was 3/5/23 (Sun morn) had breakfast – ordered pancakes & the country breakfast. The biscuit on the country breakfast was huge & the pancakes were the best ever!

The Grey Market is a wonderful establishment. Perfect for the morning meal. The Grits and Greens was phenomenal. All were cooked perfectly. The quality of the grit was very noticeable and delicious. It offered both texture and richness. The Greens balanced the dish by offering a rustic flair. The Benne seeds offered a slight nuttiness. All delicious. The coffee was good. Alex and Mia gave exceptional friendly service.

Food was pretty good. The staff was friendly, and they treated the customer sitting next to me at the bar fairly well. They asked him how his food was and if he needed refills or anything else. When his bill came they asked if he should get the conference discount. They didn’t do any of that for me. Regarding the discount, I figured it was because I was wearing my badge and I explained what the discount was for when the other customer got their bill; however, when I got my bill, I didn’t get the discount, and didn’t have an itemized list until after I paid and got the email receipt.

Update: The Grey Market Austin was pretty good. We ordered the Hash & Eggs and the Weekend Fried Chicken. The hash was excellent, especially with the thin cut potatoes. The mac n cheese was great!! The fried chicken, however, wasn’t my favorite as it had an interesting marinade that I wasn’t a fan of. The thrill was also grapefruit which wasn’t the best. Still a huge fan of The Grey and The Diner Bar Austin.

Absolutely LOVE this place. When first reading the menu it seems that the food will be basic diner food but geeshhh does it pack a punch. The chefs Angel and Milser can throw DOWN. The flavors are bomb. I recommend the fried fish and grits, country bacon, and the braised greens! The portions are large enough to have some to take home to go. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in town. Julie has been my server each time I’ve visited and she will never steer you wrong!

Stopped in here for breakfast after staying in the Thompson. Cute establishment that consists of a diner and a small mart with sandwiches, snacks, wine and toiletries. I got the coconut oats and they were so so tasty and super filling. Definitely on the expensive side for what you get.
