This is a local restaurant / bar which serves food. We did not eat last night but I remember from past visits, the food is good. It was a fun atmosphere with line dancing (pretty sure certain nights they have lessons) and karaoke. There was a large variety of clientele from young to old. Bathroom is really nice and clean ~ always a plus and sort of a barometer to the cleanliness in general. A fun evening.

Fun accepting casual small town atmosphere, reasonable drink & food prices, and a favorite spot of local Boone County & Poplar Grove residents. Live bands on Saturday or Friday nights occasionally. DJ on Fridays. I personally know the owners & most the regulars… They are some truly good hearted bunch of folks & know how to cut loose & have a good time after a long work week. I go there for the people as much as the food & liquor selection.

We went for the all you can eat fish fry. Service we terribly slow. One of the friers went down so they shut down the fish fry. I got 1 order. My husband had 1 order +1 refill. They offered a $1 discount. I complained so we got a $2 discount. The waitress was not pleasant to begin with and got even more peachy once there was an issue. The walleye was good, the fries were horrible and the kids cheeseburger was good. But service and customer service was below average.

Typical pub grub. Priced fairly well. Smortherd Chicken was dry and not very tender. Rueben sandwich was the same way. The all you can eat cod was served with 4 huge pieces to start. You would have to be really hungry to have a reorder. The wait staff was on point without being over bearing. Drinks were priced well. Beer seemed to get colder as the night went on. Will go back again to try other menu items.

I had a fun time, Eric G, and Emily H are dope people to have working here. The Grove Burger was pretty solid, was a great night all the way until I got pulled over after leaving there. The police out there will probably be the only reason I won’t come out there that often honestly.

The atmosphere is fun and karaoke is a great time. My only issue was I had asked for a water. The water was poured out of the bartenders’ bar guns. I expect a little discoloration since it is a small town, maybe a possible town on well water. I grew up in a town like that so that wasn’t an issue. My problem was that there was black debris at the bottom of my head plastic cup. I thought it may have been a dirty cup so I asked for another. The same thing happened. This floating debris lined the outer ring of both cups so I left them on the bar. The bartenders must have thought this was an issue as well because I watched them as they tested other water sources and poured water into pitchers.

We happened to be driving through the area and stopped for a burger. The food was good, the server friendly, and the prices reasonable. We loved the character of the bar too. Overall, a great stop.

The layout of this pub is different. when you walk in you have quite a walk to the bar itself then a flight of stairs. only unfortunate thing about this place. Another than that its a good atmosphere wonderful bartenders and good food located in a decent location if your in the poplar grove area.

We love taking trips on the motorcycle to here (the bf and I live in Rockford). The drinks are a little weak, but when we ride, thats ok. There’s a wrap here that the bf dreams about at night. The food is pretty good.
