The Halal Guys is always a hit or miss. Today I went to the GMU location and met Nunanya. She has amazing customer service skills and made me feel excited for my purchase. She explained the upgrades very well. She made the tea sound like my tastebuds was missing it. I’m very grateful to be served by her. I’ll come back to this location just for that amazing service.

The portions were big! I guess that’s why it’s The Halal Guys. The Hot sauce wasn’t as spicy as the one we tried in New York, so it’s better. The white sauce was delicious. However the braised lamb was a bit too salty for me. I like the chicken platter and gyro beef. The service was good and fast.

I’ve loved the halal guys since my first bite over a decade ago. Granted I had it in NY first, so I was able to enjoy the original taste. This location is nothing like what the original offered. But the crazy rise in prices along with a lack in quality of the food is really turning me away from this food. The beef is always dry and the chicken is way less succulent than it used to be. I just tried the lamb and I could barely stomach the food. It was honestly some of the worst lamb I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve had halal lamb before and what this location offers is NOT acceptable. I typically never leave any morsel of food behind but I would have thrown up if I finished that platter. Honestly, utterly disgraceful.

TERRIBLE! Ordered as a late night delivery meal but was not ready for the disappointment. This food arrived hot and on time – but also tasteless, tough overcooked chicken in a pita with lettuce and tomato. No option to add any other toppings so I was happy to add feta tzazaki and other toppings to try and save the disaster of a meal delivered… First and last time ordering from here. Their prices outweigh the value of their meals. $35 for two tasteless meals. What a complete waste of money. Thanks for the questionable experience.

When the heck did olives and jalepenos stop being free? Got home and realized I had a platter with green peppers and onions and thats it. Was very disappointed. Not sure if that’s just this location, new policy, or what. But I swear my usual one doesn’t charge for those.

I’d give them at least 3.5 stars is I could. I needed a quick lunch, and wanted something different. I’d heard of them, and was excited to try them. I was pleased. Everything is very fresh, looks appealing before and after preparation, and portions are larger than expected. I’m 6’4, 195#. I have a rather fast metabolism, and need my calories regularly throughout the day. On my first visit, I ordered the large combo plate. I couldn’t finish it. I had about 1/4 of it left, maybe a little more. It made for a great snack the next day. I now get the small plate, and it fills me well. A good place with fresh, healthy good, served quickly. I understand why they have the reputation they do. It’s well earned. The photo is the small combo plate partially mixed.

Very disorganized. They messed up and gave me someone elses order so i gave them the wrong one back and got my correct order. Then as I’m eating one of the workers(Indian) comes up to my table and starts going through my food and opening it to make sure it was the right order. This is completely unprofessional. Even if they did mess up and give me the wrong order there’s no excuse to open my food and start going through it.
