I got the arroz con Pollo. It was about $19 so I was expecting a big plate and it was. I get home open it up and only saw 1 little boneless thigh with a mountain of rice. Highly disappointed. Could’ve been a 5 star meal had there been more meat. I was expecting at least 3 for all that rice and that price.

The food is delicious AND customer service is excellent. The man at the counter was very nice and attentive even though he was extremely busy. I love to support family businesses especially when they care for their customers. The guava cheesecake, Cuban sandwich, empanadas and rice bowls were all delicious! It was crowded so people are starting to discover this hidden gem in Chula Vista/South San Diego.

This is a rare find!! The food and service is incredibly good. This is the first, of many future visits. We ordered the Roasted Pork combo plate, Cuban sandwich w/cassava fries, Meat Empanadas and Guava/cheese pastry for desert. Everything was amazing.

Great flavor, the potato balls are the best. Even with a generous helping of potato, the flavor of the stuff inside is very pronounced. great combination of flavors that are a delight when you take a bite. The pastries are also good, nice and flaky. The meat empanadas are also to notch and every so flaky. If you like spicy, choose the spicy options…

I’ve been here plenty times and I’m always greeted with kindness and delicious food. The service is amazing and you will barely notice the wait because its very fast and you might get distracted by the scenic views outside. Great vibes and good food in a cozy corner is a treasure wherever you are. Check it out for yourself!

Being Puerto Rican from a largely PR/DR community, it’s difficult to find food that makes you feel at home in San Diego. Tropical Sabor closed down, LoLatino closed down, Jibaritos is closed on Mon/Tues, and Andres doesn’t even make the cut in my opinion (too bland). Havana Grill has a very gentrified feel; I didn’t like it and never went back. THIS place however, was amazing. The ropa vieja was juicy and full of flavor, the rice cooked perfectly, plenty of drink/side options, and a wonderful mom/pop feel to it like an East Coast Caribbean bakery. I would recommend this to anybody, and I would definitely eat here again.

Authentic Cuban flavor in the Chula Vista area. My husband really enjoyed the guava with cream cheese and the empanadas. The potato balls were okay, something I’d never tried before. They also have sandwiches, but we did not get to try them due to the portion size stated in some reviews.

My partner and I have been on the hunt for the best Cuban sandwich around after a long ago vacation to Florida and Costa Rica, and he swears he’s found it in this place. Everything we tried here was amazing – the Cuban bowl ( probably 50% meat – amazing price and portions), guava pastry, spicy chicken empanada (super flaky), and spicy chicken potato ball. Already planning when we’ll be back.
