We are big fans of The House of William and Merry. Tucked away in a house in Hockessin, the restaurant is an upscale establishment that offers indoor bar, and porch seating. The food is excellent and it’s priced accordingly. Everything we have ever had has been fresh and delicious. The service has always been excellent as well. If you are looking for a nice date night or special occasion this is an excellent option.

The House of William & Mary has a great kitchen. I would call it one of the best in Wilmington certainly. The food is creative, fresh and well prepared.

Had a fantastic time here celebrating our anniversary. Our waitress was highly knowledgeable of the entire menu and helped us pick great dishes. Fish was cooked to perfection, moist and juicy. Everything plated like art and so glad we didn’t skip out on dessert!

Food: octopus is so plain, but the price is $20+. Duck breast is pretty uncooked, and the quality of the food itself is low. The price of the duck breast was $40.

Parking is my only complaint because W&M is a top three restaurant in the entire state. They’re a true Michelin worthy dining experience from cocktails thru dessert. Their tartare with the duck yolk is a slice of dining pleasure all by itself.

I have had the privilege of dinning at many high quality restaurants in my life, and this place is by far the best I have ever had. The flavors that hit your palate are otherworldly. Our server was fantastic. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Even though it is expensive, it is well worth the money. Even the cocktails were fantastic (which is rare)! Will definitely be back!

Went here on 12/22/2021 and was pleasantly surprised. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was superb !!!! My party had the rabbit, pork, and duck dishes. They were all extremely well prepared. My only complaint was the pork being slightly dry.Other than that 10s all around.

5 stars for the food, 3 for the service, 1-2 for the price. FOOD was absolutely amazing and it is what keeps us coming back. Gourmet to the extreme with complex flavors, every bite is a symphony. And it is sheer artistry with the plating. The Manhattan was spot on perfection. Foie gras abounds (3 of the 5 main dishes included it in some form or fashion) so if you like it, you’re in for a treat. If not, you will be hard pressed to find something on the menu. During COVID, the menu has shrunk considerably which is understandable and what restaurants need to do to survive. I love this small corner restaurant and want our local small business to thrive but I wish it were not becoming so inaccessibly expensive. $30 for a (very small) appetizer and nearly $50 for an entree? I realize COVID but still, that is ridiculous. Perhaps start offering a wider range of food at a wider range of price points. Also, part of the enjoyable experience of going to a fancy restaurant is to hear them describe the food with all the exotic culinary terms. Our waiter just asked “do you have any questions about the menu?” Timing of the service was fine without rushing but pretty blah with no recommendations or discussion from the waiter. All in all it was a lovely night but we will wait quite a while to go back.

All I can say is…YUM, YUM and more YUM! My dinner here was utterly amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever ordered pork when dining out so this was a first for me. Their pork tenderloin was one of the most tender, scrumptious meats I’ve ever eaten. I also love eating things where I’m constantly wondering “What is this??” I actually had to reread the menu when I got home so I could identify what that amazing thing was I ate. Same went for my incredible “Cocoa Kiss” dessert. I was constantly puzzled by this melange of chocolate goodness. I actually think it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The only low point was the bread, very dry and tasteless. Definitely a let down in a dinner of high, high fantastical culinary delights. Run, don’t walk, to THOWAM!
