So what do you want me to tell him about the place , my wife was upset with the food the catfish were Patty so it’s not real catfish it’s frozen brought food but she said she was from Louisiana, no flavor.

Mom and I usually go to the Hush Puppy restaurant on West Charleston and always enjoy it, but we just found out that their other location on North Nellis is open on Sundays at Noon! We were both very happy with the Nellis location also, even though it’s in an older part of town and the area is a little run down. The restaurant looks rather plain on the outside and has a weird odor in the lobby, but that just makes it even more authentic. Having lived in South Mississippi for almost 25 years, I have to say they really nailed the ambiance of the place as an old fashioned Gulf Coast seafood shak! The salad bar was good (smaller than in the West side location, but more than adequate) and Mom was thrilled with their green tomato relish, which you don’t see out here much in the West. The food was very good as we’ve come to expect from Hush Puppy.

After work drive thru! I ordered 2 catfish/shrimp combos, fried green tomatoes, alligator tail with sweet butters… Delicious. $35 for all this and I got a drink

There was no one in the drive through, so it was very quick. We ordered the catfish family pack. The fish was hot, some of the batter was off and you could see the almost translucent freezer burn on the fish. Which would explain why it was chewy. The French fries were all soggy in oil. The Coleslaw was actually brown, and the Tater sauce had been sitting out warm and had turned. This was so gross. I was supper sad, as I loved this place as a child. What a waste of money. I actually feel robbed. And I am still hungry, because we couldn’t eat it!

Very annoyed at the fact that this location is either permanently closed or the posted hours for Sunday are wrong it’s 2:45 and it’s completely closed but it says they open at 12:45 on the door and google. Wasted my time!

It was come Tues, for Shrimp & Fish.. or Thur, for both.. plus, Clams & Oysters. Da Daa Thur won! Movie & a Meal. Ok crowd,so the salad bar was running low as fast as being replenished. Ran into some friends, but to go orders for them. I got a booth and was handling it Almost forgot to take my pics!!! But I did enjoy myself and my waitress was really on top of everything as well as her customers. Don’t know her name, but I think she’s been there a while. She earned her top and my respect! ☺️ Anyhoooo, I’m too stuffed. I tried not to overeat. Guess drinking all my water St the end did it!!! Oh well, mighty fine eatin’!!!

I’ve been meaning to review this place. This is the second time I go. So first and foremost, the food. It’s really fresh, the salad bar is amazing. The catfish is great, nice and crispy, the shrimp is juicy! For the price it can’t be best. Where else can you find fresh unlimited seafood for under 16$! Second, the weekly specials, my gosh they are so affordable. Look at the picture for yourself. Lastly, and best of all the service. This place excudes southern hospitality! The service is great, the servers are sweet, caring, and on top of things. The first time I went to the Charleston location the owner came and spoke to us to make sure everything was going good. We assured him it was, even then he gave us a free sweet potato pie (which was probably the best pie I’ve had) he had it freshly made so that it was warm. You can’t beat the experience of the hush puppy. I truly recommended it to all.
