Love this spot with all of my heart. I usually go solo on a Monday or Tuesday. It’s perfectly cozy, usually playing good music, and not too crowded. My go-to is a Sapporo, then the takiniku (steak) + mushroom garlic fried rice, combine em in the same bowl if you’re feeling extra hungry. Perfect for what it is, always happy I went.

A total of 8 of us came to The Izakaya to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Fortunately the restaurant takes reservations so we were able to book a table which was hidden towards the back. It was very nice and intimate!

The food was really good and tasty. However, the price was way too over priced. I know Japanese tapas is usually serves in a small portion however it was way too small but the dining experience was great. You’ll have to expect to spend at least $150 for each person to fully dine in.

After looking at the menu, my friend and I decided to order the “for two people” menu that was listed as $126 + tax. The food was okay. The yellowtail sashimi was sorta fresh, but the chicken nanban was clearly the standout out of everything that came out. We asked for the check and when it came, we were surprised to see it total to $154 before tax, which is $28 more expensive than what was advertised on the menu. Had we known, this would be a different story. We didn’t know and we tried to ask the server which was true and which was false, and she just kept saying she didn’t know and it was what was in the system. She wasn’t willing to figure it out with us, even though this was clearly false advertising and something wasn’t right here. Completely unhelpful. I think what happened is that the set menu (as inputted in the system) incorrectly adds in two portions of sashimi instead of one. In our case, we were asked if we wanted something else since they were out of salmon. They said they’d give us two portions worth of yellowtail instead (this is a set menu for two people, but they should only be charging once like they did for all other items on the set menu). This (after tip) came out to almost $100 per person, which I don’t think this place is worth it.

Great place for tapas in the city near Saint Marks Place! we came here with a group of four, came hungry and left full. However the prices were pretty steep and our wallet stuff we took a hit! The restaurant overall is quite small and can only fit a handful of people. The weight staff was great. Each of the entrées had a different taste and texture. I will definitely give this place a try.

Everything is mind-blowing! The addictive cabbage is actually addictive. The yakiniku beef is delightful flavored. The sake clam ramen was perfect chewy and flavor combination. The yellow tail sashimi was fatty and fresh. A true gem

Probably the longest wait for food I’ve ever had the misfortunate of waiting for. The waiter, who is the only waiter working here, served us the food and proceeded to forget about our table for the next *hour*. We arrived at 7:10, and by 8:34 I had finally received my order, a curry chicken rice dish that while good is nowhere NEAR the length of wait I had experienced. I definitely do not recommend coming back here unless you find waiting extremely long wait times to be a part of the dining experience.

The interior design and ambience is lovely. Service is nice. Also, it feels intimate for couples. The salmon and beef tongue are spot on!! Don’t get the ice cream which tastes so not authentic.

The food was delicious, atmosphere was great. The server was a machine – he was serving the entire place, making the drinks, clearing tables, checking people in. I couldn’t believe it. He deserves a lot of praise, but seems like they could really use another staff member.

Besides the fact it’s kind of out the way, it’s pretty decent restaurant. All the dishes we ordered was great. Especially the sandwich is a must-have. The restaurant itself is pretty small so it could get really crowded and loud so I wouldn’t recommend it for a date though it’s a good place to go with group of friends.
