I had a really exceptional brunch meal here! The patio is beautiful and perfect for a nice day. The service was really excellent and just what I want from a server….helpful and super friendly. He was always ready to warm up coffee but wasn’t bothersome at all. The food was absolutely delicious! It is clear that the chef here has a passion for food and truly cares. I am excited to go back soon so I can try everything!

Great food in the heart of downtown Geneva. They have a beautiful, large outdoor patio and bar as well as indoor seating with great views. An extensive wine list and creative cocktails pair well with the delicious food. Highly recommend the deep dish focaccia appetizer – which could also serve as a meal for one. Also enjoyed their grilled swordfish and pork schnitzel entrees. Service was friendly and attentive and we will definitely be going back to try more of the menu.

Went with my wife a day or so before Swedish Days this year, which is Geneva’s summer festival, where things get a little nutty. We sat inside, although they have a fabulous patio that seats about a million people. The inside is a little more quaint and eclectic. Converted from an older house that was on the property, it has been an eatery in some form for as long as I can remember.

We had a group of 4, and some of the meals were fine. The major fail was the steak. Mine was supposed to be rare, and it was medium at best. The fresh made pasta was too thick, and some of it was undercooked. It also had too many bread crumbs for so little sauce. I felt like I was eating a bowl of dough. They must have been understaffed as several things that we asked for never came to the table.

I added photos of empty plates, because that’s all we had left. The tartar, mussels, and rigatoni were great. They had a wonderful wine menu along with unique cocktails. Even our 8 year old was pleased with her home made mac n cheese. This is a wonderful addition to Geneva! We’ll be back for sure once the patio is open this summer.

The James is such a great addition to downtown Geneva! Staff were very kind & helpful when ordering. The drinks were 10/10 & the food did not disappoint. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful experience for my entire family! So delighted they are open for lunch & dinner. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. He had recommendations for all courses as well as the drinks. I had the Pasta primavera rotolo & loved the tri color pasta! Just how I always enjoy it!!

Enjoyed the James. For drinks we got the ruby and the Geneva summerhouse. The Geneva Summerhouse tasted more like a fall drink, still tasty! For appetizers, we got the James bread and the cheese puffs. The cheese puffs melted in our mouths! I ordered the filet mignon and the side of mashed potatoes.

Long wait for dinner to actually come to our table. Had pasta dish that was terrible. Sauce was terrible. Drinks were great and salad was really good. This place needs to work on there recipe for Italian pasta sauce. I will not return I want to complement the server we had. He went above and beyond to explain items on the menu. Friendly and really did a great job to make a feel welcome. Not his fault dinner wasn’t good.
