Historic hotel in downtown Lawrence. The atmosphere is great. Excellent food and staff friendly service. A grill room and adjacent more quiet formal dining available. Street parking can be challenging and perhaps the only real negative element of this location.

Emily was extremely accurate and well knowing of what I wanted with my steak! The best service! Highly recomed her! The ribeye delmonico is the best!

Stopped in for a social with some colleagues. The have a bunch of doorways that look like you can enter through them, but they are all non-functional except for one. Once you find the right door, you’ll be in a very nice looking little restaurant with a small bar. We were hanging out at the bar. The service was great. We got to enjoy watching an excellent bartender making artisan drinks all night, and some of us indulged ourselves. The atmosphere was great. The noise volume was very low, making it easy to have conversations. The prices were on the high side, but everything was so good, I can’t really complain about the price. Really great experience.

Met here twice to watch KU basketball with a large group and both times we had a grand time—it helps that KU won, but also the staff in the bar/restaurant helped make our time pleasant as well. Don’t miss going into the basement of the hotel to check out the Big 6 room where you can see the old-timey mascots from the days when KU was in the Big 6 conference! Super cute. @kimyarla

I was dining there a few days ago and I noticed and will say, the uniforms are horrendous. They do not go with the atmosphere whatsoever, let alone, having them wear ties that don’t go with the outfit. Change the attire and do better. The uniforms need to be the first to go.

The bar might take a bit to get your drink but they offer a fun variety of cocktails in town.

My husband and went to the eldridge for lunch. It was one of the best experience at a restaurant I’ve ever had. The sweet fire shrimp is so delicious you’ll be hooked. My cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. The prices where good, the restaurant was clean, table set up beautiful. The manager even came and asked us how everything was,I thought that was a special touch. Will recommend to friends and will be back. You don’t have to dress up either to eat there, I don’t think people know that.

Food was fine but not great. Big complaint is our server forgot about us apparently. Took 10 min after seating to get water. Ordered drinks apps and food fine then had to flag a different server down after not seeing ours for almost 20 minutes. Could have been a great experience with a competent server.

I have enjoyed this place and recommended it to others. It “was” in my top favorite places to dine. However, I haven’t been visiting as much lately because there’s a new chef on board who has changed or removed most of my favorites.
