Compared to other Buffets at a $12.99 price it’s good. The food was warm to hot. The temp in the room was on the cool side. There is a full salad bar, better than other Buffets. The dessert bar is better than Golden Corral. The wait staff is very friendly.

I usually have lunch there 3-4 times a week. Every time I go in I leave more disappointed than I did from the last visit. The food is going down hill. Lately the food bar is almost empty and I find myself waiting for them to bring food out. The food that is there is cold and looks like it was made the day before. The overall service has dropped beyond recognition of what it once was. Now you’re expected to get your own silverware from containers that everyone that eats there has the opportunity to touch every fork, spoon or knife. Today I seen a child sneeze directly on the forks, wiped his nose with his hand and reached with the same hand to get a fork. I sat my plate down and walked out. What a shame, Kansas Buffet took a very nice place to eat and turned it in to a restaurant I don’t think I’ll try again.

One of the best and most popular restaurants serving the Ottawa area, this American style buffet serves reasonably good food at moderate prices and even has steak.

Being a Dining Facility Manager during part of my time serving our county and I know that from time to time things don’t go right during the cooking process. But our experience was totally unacceptable. All of the pork ribs , the sausage slices even the pulled pork was floating in grease and lacked any flavor at all. Trying to cut the ribs apart they were so tough without flavor what so ever. I shifted to dessert and the apples looked so awesome but there was no flavor in the glaze and the apples were hard. The silverware was empty at the desert with only two bowls available and all the plates at the beginning were wet. The desert rolls with frosting was so hard to cut you needed a knife to cut off a bite. One other thing the mac & cheese was cold that is pure neglect in the staff in preparation to put on the serving line. It was Saturday evening, graduation day and we feared the supper hour there would be a waiting line but we walked in and right up to the cashier and ordered. Now we know why the parking lot was empty with only 12 vehicles and the other restaurants all had full parking lots. I grew up in Ottawa and had eaten many meals at the previous restaurant without any complaint what so ever.

I wish -0- stars was an option. We decided to give this place one more try Sat. Night Dec. 16. We should have known better when we seen only about 10 cars in the huge parking lot at 6 pm on a Sat. Night. The white gravy and mashed potatoes both literally had a crust on top of them as did the baked beans. All 3 were lukewarm at best. The corn on the cob was completely shriveled on one side. The broccoli/cheese soup was cold. The shredded cheese in the soup was not even melted. The chocolate pudding had white lumps of some sort in it. We really debated on just asking for a refund and going somewhere else rather than risk food poisoning. But decided to fill up on pizza as it looked to be about the best option. It wasn’t the best either but it was at least editable. Hands down it was the worst meal we’ve had at a restaurant in years. Possibly ever. Won’t be going back. It is a shame too..because it was really good up until a couple of years ago.

Had been going to Sirloin Stockade for years – started good then went down hill only to go up. The food started to be amazing, the girls, those that had been there for a long time, were so friendly. Then next you know it’s the Kansas Buffet. Food started out good then in the fall of 2017 it started to go down hill. Come Christmas come to find out some of the servers (who we came to know personally) were told people would not only get their own plates, but their own silverware & drinks – they simply would be clean up. Many plates uncleaned, had to always wipe the silverware & as for drinks, they were ok. We returned twice after Christmas & have vowed not to return after the 2nd visit! The food was horrible! Cold, under cooked, not very much on the bars that looked edible. We watched a cook take the dried out fish pan with a few pieces stuck to it only to put new on top! We will NOT BE RETURNING. Better to pay a little more & drive to a Golden Corral where their buffets are amazing & the servers greet us & take excellent care.

What happened to this place? I used to eat here several times a week, but since the names change it has gone downhill badly. The food was terrible.. The chicken couldn’t even be considered for human consumption, it has that bad a taste. They used to have this amazing and awesome wait staff that took care of you…. Now all they do is clear off tables, your expected to do it all yourself… And they expect a tip? I gave it a break to see if it would improve…. It hasn’t! Can’t even call it a good deal as the food your paying for is borderline gross and most can’t be eaten. I will be removing this place as a place to have lunch…. Maybe when they go broke someone will purchase the building and put a nice place to eat back in.

Your meat order cook on the weekends is such a wonderful character! He made excellent eggs and ham and entertains at the same time. He is a treasure. The food quality is improving. I particularly love your cheesy hash browns. Keep it up!
