The Lobster House offers a changing menu with a variety of appetizers, entrees and sides. We’ve been several times and have always enjoyed our meals. This time I ordered the fish tacos and they were great, with just the right amount of spice. I also had a small dinner salad that had a nice selection of greens and vegetables. There were several choices of seafood entrees that I would have been happy with. For dessert I had the blueberry bread pudding, which had a nice touch of cinnamon and homemade whipped cream. Reservations are recommended here.

There was a lot of charm but also a lot of not of follow through with the food. Some stuff clearly homemade but not very well and some stuff was excellent. To their credit they were absolutely slammed being the only thing for 30 minutes in any direction. When on vacation it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but I bet the locals really only frequent the bar.

My husband and I had a very nice time at the Lobster House. Service was on point with food specials ( catch of the day), drinks, dessert, and attentive. The bartender was fun and personable. And the food was delicious and done well. We ordered fish tacos, which were big and filled to the gills, and shaved prime rib sliders, onions perfectly caramelized and meat tender. We pushed ourselves to eat up the cobbler but it was worth it. An enjoyable night to be sure.

Very disappointing return of The Lobster House. Having been in years past with good experiences, this was a “no return” visit. We first waited over 15 min to even be acknowledged by the waitstaff and only after inquiring with the front of house, all while watching the table next to us promptly get their order in free entering after us). The menu is currently limited. We ordered a pizza and 2 orders of fish tacos. To our surprise the $18 pizza was only 10”!!! A personal pizza, to be exact (and our non-picky kids didn’t even like it!). We only received 1 order of fish tacos and after waiting to be served and then the wait on the food, we didn’t bother to ask for another order. We understand they were grossly understaffed, so perhaps delay re-opening? We also suggested that they let others know the size of the pizza (we assumed for the price it was a “full size”-our mistake to assume). Also, drink refills are not free. Really frustrating to pay so much for so little, not to mention the poor service.

First let me say, we really want this place to succeed. We vacation near Popham Beach every year, and every year there are fewer and fewer local places to eat. We were really excited to get there this summer to find Lobster House reopened after being closed for several years. To succeed though, these folks need to change a few things up a bit.

Took our aunt out for her birthday dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. I had a prime rib, caramelized onion & blue cheese pizza and it was amazing. Husband had duck with a blueberry sauce, his words…I haven’t had duck a lot in my life but that was th best, cut it with my fork. He tried the lobsterman’s daughter…raspberry, lemon hello, pomegranate martini……yummo! Aunt had a lobster newburg that was loaded with lobster and they both had dessert that knocked it out of the woods. Waitress was great and then we hit the little gift shop on our way out the door. Will definitely be going back very soon!

Unfortunately, the Lobster House hasn’t been open for a few years now. The owners live in Florida, and clearly don’t care about it. The building’s been falling into.disrepair, and that’s a sad thing to see. We (Phippsburg residents) wish they would sell it. The place could be a gold mine, and would be great for our community, summer renters, and campers. [especially since Spinney’s is permanently closed, and Anna’s is dirty and awful. (more Florida residents that don’t care about our town, or ripping off our residents and tourists.)]

If you’re looking for the worst restaurant on the East coast, look no further! Service can be okay at best depending on your server. Food is extremely bland and dry. You’re better off driving a couple miles to a different place.
