Pathetically slow service. Arrived a full hour before our flight out. Was repeatedly ignored by staff. Had to flag down a waitress, who finally took our order. Never heard from her again. Had to leave to catch our flight with no food or drinks delivered. I would give negative points if that were an option.

I sat down at a table to enjoy a cold brew before my flight. I sat at my table for 15 minutes with not 1 person acknowledging I was there. I finally went and got in line at the bar to order and stood in line for another 10 minutes without being acknowledged. When the bartender finally acknowledged I was there she acted like I was an inconvenience and very rude. Highly disappointed in this establishment as I am a Fairbanks local. I wonder what people out of state think about this state.

Substandard on every measure except the view of the runway was good. Fish & chips arrived soaking in fry oil, as if they had stayed in too long. Chicken Caesar salad had crumbled (not sliced) pieces of chicken that were mushy and tasteless. Returned the fish & chips ; asked for a cheeseburger with side salad to replace it. Waitress said she would ask the manager. Cheeseburger arrived, barely seared on both sides, rare inside. Bring your own food to this airport or eat before arriving.

Decent food, well poured drinks. Sat at the bar, ordered a drink and was handed a menu. Ordered and got my food (reindeer chili cheese fries). Extremely timely service as this is a small airport and its empty right now, but read others’ reviews as it seems when busy there is a lack of customer support. Will note, the fries were good (definitely freshly fried) but there were only three diced pieces of sausage in my entire take out sized tray of fries. Expect ~$15 per item.

The bartender (Lazar) was irritable and grumpy when I sat down, and then disdainful when I asked for something they didn’t have. Strangely, he was quite nice and friendly to the man that walked up right after me. Not sure what that was about. Hopefully just a bad day.

We were in Fairbanks for a week, and we ate this before our flight home. It was one of the best meals we had the entire time. Food tasted extremely fresh. I had the turkey sandwich with pub chips and my fiancé had the pepperoni flatbread pizza. Both were so delicious. Our waiter was the bartender, and we still had exceptional service despite how busy the bar was. I would highly recommend.

They are not even worth 1 star, but I made me choose to get to this point. Stood in line for 10 minutes behind other people. The bartender shouts out, not serving any food for an hour just drinks. I go let my husband know, so back up for a diet coke and water, but the bartender totally ignored the people in line only helping those sitting at the bar. Then shouts out again, no more drinks until the next bartender gets here! I said what I wanted, and told him, you could have let us know that, instead of just ignoring us, then he said I can’t refuse to serve you and he did! So no waitress because she ran off screaming, I’m leaving! Then the bartender did the same thing!! Where did they hire these two?? They just left a restaurant full of people with no service!!

We were flying out to Fairbanks airport after the holiday weekend and encountered multiple flight delays. To kill time at the airport, we hung out at The Local. While the kitchen was closed, their sole server Silvana was holding the place up with her commitment to extraordinary service. We all got drinks – the hand-shaken Bloody Mary is worth the hype – and watched as more and more people thronged the bar. Silvana was excellent – warm, humorous, and good spirited – making sure people were well served. Thank you Silvana!
