Stopped here on a trip north last week and found ourselves delighted by the delicious food and fantastic people. A week later we’re headed back home and stopped elsewhere in Portland. As we eat another purveyors lackluster sandwich we’re sitting here reminiscing and longing for the Local Press.

The food is absolutely amazing. Always fresh and high quality ingredients paired together in unique and thoughtful creations ☺️ The grateful ched is my all time favorite but everything I’ve tried is delicious. The owner and all the workers are super great people too!

Excellent sandwich shop! Solid and diverse menu, of which you can personalize to your liking. I enjoyed the Orchard Turkey panini, but subbed the Mayo for the fig jam. Delish!

I’m continually impressed by the low-key deliciousness available here. The Back Shore is my favorite and offers ham, blue cheese, spinach, and grapes (pictured). Most sandwiches have a similar vibe. Perfect mix of savory and sweet. Local beers on tap, hot/cold sandwich options and soup. 3 veg options available. Usually not crowded. Once I biked here in the pouring rain and they offered me towels from the kitchen. I recommend it highly!

Great sandwiches! A short, simple list with elegant combinations of ingredients. They all sounded like something exciting to try. The staff was super friendly and talkative. They also carry drinks, sodas and gorgeous cheesecake made by local businesses. A great place to stop in for lunch. Haven’t seen what it’s like around dinner time. We walked there from our Airbnb.

This is best sandwich shop! We travel to the Bar Harbor twice a year and stumbled on this place last year. Wish we had found the place sooner. The sandwiches are always delicious and fresh and the service is great even when they’re busy.

Always my #1 place to get take-out lunch. Sandwiches are amazing and I had the salad for the first time a few days ago and it was also excellent. Call ahead to pick up, otherwise you might be waiting a while.

Inexplicably not open at 2:30pm on a Saturday despite their online hours and irl sign saying they’re open until 4.
