This was my family’s 1st time at The Lost Cajun. The service was excellent and the food was too. If you haven’t eaten there before, they start you off with a free gumbo sampler which also includes jambalaya and red beans and rice. Everything was delicious! We basically ordered it all. The food is reasonably priced and won’t break the bank. We all will be back.

Great service, server was kind and on top of the drink refills. Ordered oyster po boy, gator po boy, fries, coleslaw and potato salad! No complains, everything was AMAZING. Food was hot and tasty, bread was toasted well and the sides were all well seasoned! Will definitely come back again!!

My daughter and I traveled to slidell to shop and eat! We checked all the eateries around for reviews, so we decided on the LOST CAJUN, first of all you receive samples of red beans, gumbo, etouffee and 3 others samples, we decided on the seafood platter and shrimp po-boys with a side of boudin balls!! And they were ABSOLUTELY delicious Plus our server was very attentive, she was everything!!!! THANK YOU TRACY!! the only down side was the order of beignets We were so disappointed they had NO TASTE I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NONE just covered in powdered sugar but we will differently go back if only for the Balls and for tracy serves.

I’m from New Orleans, so when I found out about this gem I high tailed it there. It had been a few years since I had authentic food from my home town, so why not try this? I got the crawfish etouffee. Now, let me start by saying this is NOT cheap to make. So I didn’t mind the $12 price point. The flavor was okay, but it could have done with just a BIT more seasoning. It was inconsistent. Sometimes bland tasting, sometimes a hint of spice. My major issue was there was a total of FIVE tails in the bowl, which I understand it’s a scoop and pray situation so I was fine with that-HOWEVER….there was barely any rice, so I was just sort of left with this runny roux.

I wanted to be impressed and thrilled because I’m a gumbo and Cajun food lover. I was impressed with the how they presented the sampler of their gumbos, creamy red beans and rice and Jambalaya. I was offended when the waitress helper threw the spoon on the table at us. She did apologize quickly but not fast enough. I ended up ordering the jambalaya it was a bit too spicy for me but nothing I wasn’t prepared for however what I wasn’t prepared for was a dish that was just rice with a few pieces of sausage. I also ordered the fried okra appetizer and it way too salty too consume. They were out of oysters 🙁 the gumbo was watery and weak even the tea was watered down to no taste. The fish and the shrimp was good from what I could tell from those who were dining with me. The fries also were too salty. Needless to say this is not a spot I would recommend for really good Cajun food especially if you’re a gumbo lover like myself. I continue on looking for that mind blowing bowl of gumbo.

Hey All I say My 1st impression of the loss Cajun the food was good the atmosphere was set. The meal was good but when I Read that the fish came from Vietnam it made me a little uneasy because you’re advertising a lost Cajun that comes from Louisiana and Mississippi where we have farm raised catfish just down the street 10 miles so that’s what I have to say we did not fish our meal was very good.

This is a great place! My third time there in less than a month. Zoey was a great server. Had the pasta lafitte with shrimp this time. Full of flavor and shrimp.

Dirty plates!!! No meat in the red beans and rice! Pretty bland taste!!! Almost like they just scraped up the leftovers from the bottom of the pot!

First time trying to-go from this place. We got two side salads, both with ranch dressing. This was all the ranch they gave us for both… one container with like a spoonful of ranch for two people to split.

My waitress, Brooklyn, was a JEWEL! She’s a complete sweetheart! The food was okay. I ordered shrimp and grits. They were wayyyy too salty and I sent them back and got chicken and sausage gumbo. I should say chicken gumbo because there was no sausage. There wasn’t enough rice but it that’s okay. My kids enjoyed their fish and shrimp baskets. Hubby enjoyed his seafood platter and lobster bisque.
